1 Coldplay
9 Doves
5 Muse
4 Bloc Party
6 The Darkness
3 Sigur Ros
10 Arctic Monkeys
2 Franz Ferdinand
It's a shame The Back Room had to go up against Silent Alarm. Tough first round draw.

Thank goodness for British Sea Power - they'd have all been the same as Jllm's otherwise.
I too am not happy about having to knock out Editors in the first round. And I can't believe I had to vote for Coldplay. Eugh.

I think I've seen at least 3 votes for The Darkness, which means there are at least 3 posters (myself included) whose heads aren't stuck up their respective arses. You know who you are. Well done.

The only bands in this bracket The Darkness don't measure up to are Muse and Radiohead.

Where I come from they'd call you a foolish old mawkus for saying something like that.

First Modest Mouse, now The Darkness. Seriously, fucking British Sea Power? Even moreso than just about everyone else on that list, those guys couldn't write an album as solid as Permission to Land in a billion years. Much less followed it up with stuff as addictive as “Dinner Lady Arms” and “Knockers.” From pop sensibility to downright riffage, it’s hard to fuck with The Darkness, especially if you’re one of the many pansies on this list.

The Darkness is a joke that should've only been lasting one album. Seriously. Like a fucking Queen tribute band. No wonder their albums flopped badly here down under. Seems that somewhere down the line in this sick land we do have some sense.

I think when they're referred to as a joke, it's when people aren't in on it. They're as novel or brilliant as you want to make them imo.

Yeah, because God forbid someone rip on Queen and not Radiohead, Joy Division, the Stooges, or the Clash.
