....I'll be happy to put up the Jack Johnson box,,,,, *Don's hand eagerly shoots up*(dammit tho, I suppose there's probably a nice booklet that goes with that.....the one for the Silent Way Sessions is a great read...) If anyone would want more Miles, I could kick in with Sketches Of Spain Sorcerer LIVE Around The World Filles de Kilimanjaro Kind Of Blue Cookin' With Miles Davis Quintet Miles Smiles Nefertiti Miles In The Sky Pangaea Complete Bitches Brew Sessions The Essential Miles Davis <= a fairly nice 2CD primerI also have Bill Laswell's Panthalassa: The Music of Miles Davis 1969-1974 where he does produces "a modern mix translation and reconstruction in sound" of Davis' original tracks from that five year period. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Phil: are you also going to put up the first disc of Pêche à la Mouche? I feel like I'm in a jazz mood for the rest of the weekend. Went downtown to my blues saloon sometime after Midnight last night (well, this morning I guess) and a band I've seen there for years shocked the shit out of me by ripping into Billy Cobham's "Stratus" --- the two guitarists just blazed in that small room! Tommy Bolin woulda been proud.

Once I get all the .zips compiled, I'll post the complete Jack Johnson Sessions box here. Be warned that this is all mp4 files -- so you may need iTunes to listen to it. But it's worth it.
For anyone who likes the intersection of jazz and rock, this will completely blow you away. Nobody did fusion deeper or funkier than Miles on these cuts. Just put it on a playlist of its own and hit "shuffle" and prepare to be blown away. Recorded in 1970, and it still sounds cutting edge today.

Phil -- I feel the same way about the In a Silent Way sessions! But for some reason known only to the YSI gods, it won't take my uploads tonight! But I'll have it up by Monday -- absolutely guaranteed! You're gonna love 'em.

All right, here's that Soul Flower Union best of set (compiled by yours truly) that I promised in the Live Show thread. They are my absolute favorite band, so it'll be sweet if any of you dig them, but who am I kidding. You won't. You'll hate them and insult my musical taste. YouSendIt link(or a sendspace link if you don't want to use your ysi account and are fine with the download taking a little more time) Track list: 1. Mononoke to Asobu Niwa 2. Kyokutou Sensen Ijou Nashi!? 3. Kamidanomi Yori Yasuagari 4. Ohmagatoki 5. Umi Yukaba Yama Yukaba Odoru Kabene 6. Liquica Kara no Okurimono (East Timor) 7. Repun Kamui 8. Kaze no Ichi 9. Muboubi na Onnanoko to Dota-gutsu no Ore 10. Uta wa Jiyuu wo Mezasu! 11. Survivor's Banquet 12. Horizon March 13. Ainu Puri 14. Mangetsu no Yuube Or at least that's the order I intended them to be - don't know how they'll end up when you download it.

Mary, if the ysi link doesn't work, you could always try the sendspace link, which is up in that post as well.
Not only will you hate the music, you'll also think they smell. And they probably do.
