Both clues are monosyllabic so the b'ballteam is either Knicks, Heat, Jazz, Suns, Bulls, Bucks, Spurs or Kings....

The second syllable is one of the teams you listed (remember, I said it's not the Heat).
However, the first syllable isn't one of the words you mentioned.
Also, the band is European.

I actually thought of 'fee' the first time I saw the riddle. Now I just added the first team I saw up there being mentioned, but I have to admit I haven't heard of them before. I had to check allmusic to see if they actually exist and then I found them being mentioned on the '06 board so I'm sure this is it.
