The next album I'm ordering is Elliott Smith's Figure 8. I'm sure it'll be somewhere on my list about a week from now.

This decade began in 2001, right? Not 2000? My list below is based on that assumption.
1. Mayumi Kojima - Ai no Poltergeist 2. The Delgados - Hate 3. Damon and Naomi - The Earth is Blue 4. Great 3 - When You Were a Beauty 5. Natsumen - NEVER WEAR OUT yOUR SUMMER xxx !!! 6. bonobos - A, Un 7. Aimee Mann - The Forgotten Arm 8. Momonashi - A no Tsuku Kotoba 9. Ajico - Show 10. downy - Untitled (4th) 11. Polaris - Kuukan 12. 65daysofstatic - One Time For All Time 13. Quruli - Antenna 14. Eastern Youth - Kanjusei yo Outou Seyo 15. Number Girl - Numheavymetallic 16. Gymnopedie - Koyoi mo, Utakata Sagashi 17. Badly Drawn Boy - About a Boy 18. Sly Mongoose - Tip of the Tongue State 19. Spangle Call Lilli Line - Or 20. Belle and Sebastian - The Life Pursuit
I have this nagging feeling that my list isn't going to make one iota of a difference to the overall score.

I predict that this poll will have much less overlap than if a similar poll were taken for previous decades. And that's what makes this decade so great, IMO.

I probably should've put Set Yourself on Fire in my list. But I'm too lazy to change it.
XTRMNTR would've gone on too, except I don't consider 2000 to be part of this decade.

DED said albums of the last 6 years, Ryo. Stop being so technical about when the decade really began!

You were probably one of those people who ruined Y2K by pointing out that 2000 wasn't the start of the new millennia.

I was, yes All right then, I'll concede that ded did in fact say last 6 years, so I was wrong. I'm too lazy to change my list though, so my sincerest apologies to all those bands who released fantast records in 2000 (Blankey Jet City, Supercar, Primal Scream, Spitz etc.)

Yeah, 2000's cool. These are some really great lists...more variety then I expected truth be told.

Though without getting out my paper and calculator I can say for sure that You Forgot It In People has a better then average chance of winning this.

I'll be putting up a list later, but lemme go ahead and say that YFIIP is gonna be #3. I enjoy the self-titled a little bit more these days, and can't see that ever changing again.
And I'll be counting 2000 (because I couldn't stand the nerds who used to say, in The Comic Book Guy voice, "I don't know what you're all excited over, it's not really the turn of the millenium yet!") and no limiting to one album per artist.
