Oh well. I'm hopelessly addicted to the "New Poll" button. I've a feeling that this is really only going to be a battle between 2112 and Moving Pictures, with the latter coming out on top. My vote will help it win.

I voted for Moving Pictures, but I probably should've gone with A Farewell to Kings since that has their best song (Spirit of the Radio).
You should've included one of their compilitions ... and Nelson has to be an option for any of these polls!

alright, before I vote, I'll list the front-runners for me (I'll have to devise some sort of "tie-breaker" to pick only one):
~Caress Of Steel ~A Farewell To Kings ~2112 ~Moving Pictures ~Signals ~Grace Under Pressure
Damn. Looks like a 6- way tie for 1st place. Whatever shall I do.

Permanent Waves actually Ken, but you've come a long way even giving Rush props of any sort, so all is forgiven. Moving Pictures for me. The funny thing is, I've gotten to the point where I can say that I actually like a lot of their stuff, as long as (1) there aren't any vocals/lyrics; or (2) Geddy sings with his human voice instead of that banshee wail and the words aren't some pseudo-intellectual crap like "The Trees" and ; (3) (and this is the really important part) they're playing honest to god songs instead of those boring gawd-awful suites like 2112. As long as they just shut up and play, Rush aren't a bad band to listen to. I'd much rather hear any of the instrumentals from Moving Pictures than anything by the Allmans or Grateful Dead, for example.

Caress Of Steel is probably my least favorite of those early albums, Lakeside Park and Bastille Day are great the rest gets a bit meh though.

"The Trees" is a crap lyric but you have to remember that it was written in like 1978. Peart was practically still wet behind the ears. Even he will say at this point that some of the early stuff makes him cringe.
Moving Pictures, of course.
