Most overlooked, under appreciated genre of all-time?
Sure is gets a few nods of the Stetson from the alt.country hipsters of the 90s, but comparitively speaking its a forgotten art with a vibe that will never be reproduced...
who here understands what I'm talklng about?
My thought process is that your appreciation for 70s country rock is somewhat contingent upon when you were born.
Most likely if were in their 20s when country rock was around then you probablly liked it at the time, but turned against it hard when it went out of vougue and have refused any appreciation for it ever since.
If you are too young to remember country rock and wont take the time to research in to it (or anything else that the corporate gatekeepers of consumer culture dont force feed them) then it is a lost artform to you and unless it is miraculously brought back into vouge by some Lee Hazelwood bio-pic or something, then you never will.
Then there is those like me who were just kids when it came out and who had no preconcieved notions of it--and were still pre-teens when it went out of vouge. Which all means that we can except it for what it is.
So feel free to duscuss your take on 70s country rock. Remember there are no wrong answers here, but please do not confuse country rock with southern rock...
