No Direction Home builds slowly, measures out the Dylan factor in as reportorial a style as possible, which turns out to be a good decision on Scorsese's part. Certain parts of the myth are either left out or not questioned, but Scorsese's intent is to tell a story, nothing more, nothing less.
The second half is tremendously exciting, just by nature of its content, and the first half is interesting. Not as interesting as it could have been, for i think that the weakest aspects of Scorsese's storytelling method are most glaring at precisely that point in the chronology.
Still good though.

No money for it right now. I'll catch it on PBS later this month and then buy it afterward.
Time and money = not good bedfellows.

Hey Thorn: I remember you expressing concern about the Sin City SE regarding the ability (or not) to watch the segments on their own. I saw this on www.thedigitalbits.com a few minutes ago and knew this would make you smile: "The extended edition of the film will include expanded versions of each of the film's four individual segments (Customer Is Always Right, The Hard Good-bye, Big Fat Kill and That Yellow Bastard) split out into short films on their own, each with their own title cards. You'll be able to watch them each separately, or in any order you like."

Fantastic, Punkie. Watch the opening shot, a masterful piece of work if there ever was one.

I have to write a paper on it for my Film Music class. I could've picked any older movie ('30s/'40s/'50s) except for the movies being shown in class, and I picked that one because I never saw it.

The only thing I did not like about that movie was Heston being cast as a Mexican.
