I can't bring myself to trade in / throw out most of my videocassettes. On account of how pretty soon, in our post-apocalyptic survivor world, all digital media will become obsolete. The only music and movies available will be on vinyl or cassette. Not even iPods'll work. It has to do with the electromagnetic frequency modulations in the post atomic atmosphere. In fact, a lot of stuff on cassette will be erased. But there will be those isolated pockets of cassettes that survive, as well as all vinyl records that didn't just melt within the ground zero radius.

Only, the version I got was a Double Feature, w/the other flick being: I watched Deadly Strike last night, and it was nonstop choppy socky oldschool fighting action, and dubbed w/cheezy english. Although I prefer subtitles with most (serious) fare, the dubbed ninja flicks are the best, I'd almost go so far as to say the dubbed versions are 'mandatory'. I'm not sure who the best "Bruce Lee clone" is (there's another one named Bruce Le), but this Bruce Li guy sure can kick some ass.

Latest update: (as of Feb, 2008) HOLLYWOOD VIDEO (which boasts the most diverse and complete selection of horror, sci-fi, fantasy, and cult videos in the US) is now selling EVERY VIDEOCASSETTE in their store for $2 ~ ! Yesterday I went in there and fucking bought up like 21 fucking classic movies... ! I couldn't believe some of the shit I scored. . . I also found out: This SINGLE Hollywood Video Store is the ONLY one in the NATION that even STOCKS VHS ~! Right up the street from me ! I am very lucky to have the opportunity to go in there and score hordes of these things, for two bucks each.

Ha! This is a great thread. I'll throw in my 2 cents when I get a little time.

* Some of the pics below are of the DVD cover -- because I couldn't find the original VHS cover online -- however, I've tried selecting images that are the same as what was depicted on the VHS* ^* I can't believe I scored this. It is one of the classics, and is still not available on DVD! ^ ^ *Much superior cover art than the crappy DVD* ^ *And that's just the first 6 (of 21 total) . . . *

I got this at Big Lots for a buck. Sure, I'd rather have the DVD...but we're talking ONE DOLLAR. Brand new, still in shrink wrap. The Sex Pistols are not exactly the most revered band in Oklahoma, so there were plenty of copies to go around. I DO have this one on DVD now, but I still have my copy of the videotape that I bought at Hollywood Video. It was used, sure, but it was still just a couple of dollars. I actually went in the store looking for that movie, having seen the last two-thirds on HBO the previous night. I expected to pay at least 10 or 15 dollars, but it was in the budget bin for no more than 2 or 3. Folks around these parts generally don't go in for the artsy-fartsy stuff, which usually means slim pickin's for me, but in this case it worked to my advantage. I probably wouldn't have bought the DVD, but it is really packed with cool extras. In fact, it has the coolest bonus material I've ever seen on any DVD.
