My Wish List is about a mile long. Right now, the main thing that I want is the new Throbbing Gristle DVD that was just made available for pre-order. Seeing Gen and Co scare the shit out of people is high on the list. Plus it has footage of their recent activities. Ah, it's going to be expensive since it's coming from England and the dollar doesn't stand up as well since the price is in Euros. I don't care though....it'll totally be fucking worth it. Then I will spend more money when the Coil DVD box set comes out as well. Those fuckers are going to break me. I love the acoustic versions of some Sigur Ros classics on that new disk. That guy can really fucking sing. Those guys can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned. That Throbbing Gristle DVD sounds awesome. Any chance fof a state-side release? Yeah, it goes without saying that I love Jonsi's singing. I know it's the main thing that turns off those who dislike the band, but it is integral to the Sigur Ros sound. I don't know that I would like their music any more or less without that signature voice. I think it would stand up on it's own, but it was Jonsi that made a believer out of me. It IS, after all, Jonsi's band, so the only way it would have been any different is if they'd decided to be an instrumental act, like Godspeed. I'm glad they didn't. I'm hoping to get the new disc within the next few weeks. If you like the acoustic performances and don't have "Heima" yet, I exhort you to boost it up to a high level on your wish list. Some of the performances take place in really beautiful settings. The songs they do in the more traditional concert venues are every bit as good as the ones on the albums...I don't want to say they are "better", but the minute differences really add a freshness to the songs that seem to add a nice touch to the material if you're already familiar with it. Still, amazingly, haven't got this one yet, and it is definately on the Wish List:

Picked up Magic from the library last week and have only spun it a couple times w/o even really getting deep into it...HAVE to get the time around for it but I've swamped myself )with help from Doc & Thunk( with too much music.
and I just came home with BOTH the new Riverside (now playing a tune where they go right into "Shine On You Crazy Diamond",,,,what's the fuckin' point guys???) as well as Genesis' Lamb,... (finally!)

The Lamb is awesome... totally cryptic story, but awesome! In my top three Genesis albums, without a doubt!

trying to keep myself out of the CD buying sprees for a while, BUT if I would indulge ~ Lindsey Buckingham Gift Of ScrewsTony Williams Spectrum: The AnthologyI soooo want this one right now.... U2 U2 Deluxe Edition Box Setthe first 3 with bonus discs for each.....I don't own any of them on CD anyhow. ESP want to grab Boy -- that and the new LIVE @ Red Rocks edition.....tho' why they didn't expand the audio CD like they did the DVD is a bit of a mystery, not to mention disappointment. Soundtrack Of Our Lives A Present From The PastKing Crimson Lark's Tongues In AspicDel Fuegos Boston, MassB.B. King One Kind FavorThe T-Bone Burnett produced disc that recently came out....have only heard a bit of it, but it seems to deliever its promise of just letting the King do his blues without the gloss. Otherwords: he's gone back to the roots he began with so many decades ago. Cain Flesh...haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I just stumbled on this on AMazon....like a mid-70's Styx trying to go at it with more guitar. AND better album covers!

Holy shit my list is growing ever longer - maybe by Christmas time I will have the dollars to back up my desires...
As it stands...
Big Blue Ball - Peter Gabriel Succumb - David Bridie new Augie March (loved the new single I previewd on Youtbue the other night) New Filter ( kill me with criticism but I love 'em) The Hawk is Howling - Mogwai Narrow Staurs - Death Cab for Cutie Any and / or everything by the Triffids Plus a whole lot of albums by bands I would have otherwise kept up with had I been able to visit an Aussie CD store on a regular basis... stuff by Regurgitator, Epicure, The Panics, and the list most likely goes on...
Oh and there's a Tim Finn album in there somewhere that I missed, which actually sounded really good from the treviews I read...
And I think the Church have something in the pipeline too... that one is a must with a captial M...
I need to get off my lazy ass...

For Under The Tree (if I had a friggin' tree...)Peter Green The Anthology BOX SET I probably have at least 70% of this material anyhow, BUT.... Four decades of Greeny spread out over 4 discs just seems like the thing I ought to have all in one nice little spot. Nina Simone To Be Free BOX SET E'vryone needs a little Nina in their life; I just need more. Marillion Early Stages; The Official Bootleg BOX SET 1982-1987 What a hefty meal: SIX discs arcing through the Fish years from the humble beginings to the epics of Misplaced Childhood and Clutching At Straws. and somehow I haven't gotten my hands on that U2 box set of the first 3 albums....

Has anyone heard this new one yet? Reviews are that it harkens back to the sounds of Holy Bible and the lyrics of the songs come from a journal of Richey's. I'm not sure if it's available here in the States but can get it online for a few bucks...just wondered if anyone had input on it.

I heard it and yes, it does hark back to the almost pomp-garage days of the Holy Bible. I can't say I'm a fan but I did like quite a few of their songs- this album doesn't set me alight unfortunately.

The last disc was decent but wasn't something that I played much. hmmmm,,,,maybe I should try throwing it in again today. Just read about that Roky & Elevators set....yeah,,,that would be a listen! Looking back up through this thread I see several box sets that I STILL would love to have....now there's also this one I've noticed: Sadly, the way my finances look for the extended future, I think I'm going to have to be on a sabatical from purchasing anything for a while.

hate to admit looking forward to a release of his, but everything I've heard forthcoming from the new Petty disc is right on. The thing is suppose to kick solid ass and well, this particular song channels Zeppelin something fierce:
