If you go to a party at someone's house, do you honestly think it's appropriate for you to challenge the authority of the person throwing the party if you don't like the way things are going? Do you take over, re-work the menu, change the music being played, throw out the booze you don't like and send someone out to get what your favorite beer?
You guys are either being assholes for shits and giggles, or else you're totally losing sight of the fact that strat-o started these boards. The rest of us bitched and whined when RS shut down their boards, but strat-o did something about it. Everyone who is here is here because of his efforts. Apparently, shin did the same thing, with a more select group who was welcome to join him. He is completely within his rights when he bans Trutha or anyone else he does not wish to be on those boards. Strat-o is also completely within his rights when he takes any actions he thinks are appropriate in maintaining this place. Don't like it? Leave! Start your own boards!
Taking part in on-line discussions is a hobby for all of us. It's nothing we're required to do. We're all here of our own free will, and with all honesty - we're all here as guests of Strat-o's. I honestly don't know why on earth anyone would put up with so many perceived injustices as you guys claim to be suffering through and yet continue to come back day after day after day. No one is forcing you to be here. If it's so bad, then please make yourselves happier and go back to Shin's boards. If there is something you like about being here that you can't get over there, then quit your bitching and enjoy what you've got.

Ok, let me try one more time. IT WAS A JOKE! Do you think Strat-o honestly felt threaten by our discussions of pastries? I know, it was when shin started posting pictures of Fox anchors...that bastard. I could understand of it was serious coup attempt but it obviously wasn't. It was funny. Get your head out of your ass and lighten up alittle.

Do I think he felt threatened? No. Fed up? Sure. But you'll have to ask him. He locked it. The only threat I'd locked is the "I demand a recount one". The intent of locking was to get these boards off of the topic of whining about bannings and whatnot, and back to their original intent. So I'd suggest PMing any more of your complaints rather than posting them here. He did ask me to be a moderator yesterday, and I have been asked to delete or lock as necessary.

It wasn't off topic. That was the topic. This is insane. No rules were being broken. Are we being punished for having a different sense of humor? I admit sometimes we've been a tad abrasive but I really don't feel like this is one of those times.

This is a full of shit, complete overreaction and abuse of board powers. The Moderator thread wasn't a harm to anyone. Nothing was off topic in that thread, as the entire thread revolved around a makeshift election. Had the discussion been carried on in a real Current Event thread, then I could see a point.

How about "is it ok for some people at a party to go out on the porch and talk about the things they want to talk about, and if you don't want to be a part of that conversation you can stay inside"? Weren't you one of the ones who said that instead of pasting Galactus pictures on the main CE board, that we should create our own threads dedicated to such things so if people don't want to have their bandwidth hogged, they won't have to suffer through that? Strange that now that's not allowed. You know, since bandwidth was really the problem... Also, I can't believe you locked Kenny's protest board. What the hell is wrong with you? My boards are designed for a group of friends and intentionally closed off from the general public, and anything that goes against such a group is immediately dismissed without further thought, and everyone implicitly understands that (except Dee for some reason). Are you turning this board into such a forum? Are you going to tell a huge chunk of the community what they can and can not do with their humor? |

Do you want your bitching posts deleted, or should this thread be locked too? When Strat-o logs on, he may or may not give an explanation. But please remember - you are here by choice. No one is forcing you to be here, and you played absolutely no role in getting these boards started. No one did but Strat-o and KayJay did. If you don't like it, leave. If you want to play by the very flexibile rules that Strat-o has laid out, the enjoy. But you've been bitching and whining about what has been going on for way too long. It's tired, it's overdone, and it's ending now. Delete or lock - that's all you need to say.

The original purpose of these boards, as I understand it, is to be the one forum out there that closely resembles the nature of the original RS.com boards. As open and free from moderator interference as possible. Can't say that's the case anymore.

We were playing by the rules. Any "whining" on the campaign board was obvious in joking manner. "Reverend pissin"? Who took that seriously? I understand banning pissin, I understand everyone complaining about what we did at CE but this is nothing like that...this is ridiculous.

I don't know what to tell you Shin. I did not lock it. But you guys had your chance to vote, and did not. Any additional posts complaining about the state of these boards will be deleted. But don't worry. Strat-o has asked that I C&P him any I delete, so if he thinks I'm overdeleting, I'll know it, and he'll see what you have to say. Of course, you could save us all a lot of time, and just PM any concerns you have.
But as you convince yourselves that I'm lying about all of this, ask yourselves - how did I get the ability to moderate this section on my own? I didn't. So I guess I'm not lying.
