Yeah, no shit. I still watch it every once in a while. Not only funny, but inspiring, IMO. That man has some balls (and yeah, obviously a good amount of ambition too). Colbert's performance will become legend within a few years.

So Salon has an article up today about how John McCain's volitile temper could be his undoing. Anyway, I just had to share this one part of the article:
HAHAHAHA

Isn't W a smoker? or at least wasn't he?

Isn't W a smoker? or at least wasn't he? Dubya was a picker, a grinner, a lover, and a sinner. He played his music in the sun. He was a smoker, a choker, a midnight toker. He got his lovin' on the run.

If being a smoker is the biggest dirt that they can throw at Obama, he will get 80% of the vote.
Of course it isn't--he has things slightly more legit to harp on him for. But the fact that smoking is an issue at all sort of reeks of desperation on the part of those who don't want him to win. Granted, it's still very early...

You'd think the fact that he admitted to cocaine use in college would be a better thing to harp on, but when you're Fox News, blatant partisan stupidity is fucking rewarded.

Colbert on O'Reilly was stupid, but O'Reilly on Colbert was fantastic. O'Reilly seemed to want to have a sense of humor, and yet he still wouldn't go along with all of the best jokes. What a turd. You can't try to look hip by going on the show and then piss and moan your way through the whole appearance. Colbert was at his finest though.

If being a smoker is the biggest dirt that they can throw at Obama, he will get 80% of the vote. No doubt. I'd even go one further & suggest that the "smoking publicity" would gain him extra votes. I, for one, have been undecided about Obama. I didn't even know he smoked. Now that I know this, there's no room for doubt: *Obama All The Way* ** Smokers are cool!

Wow, they're really scared of Obama, aren't they? I mean, he's a 1/3 term Senator, a solid year+ away from the primaries and they're bringing out everything they have. They are trying to derail Obama before he really even takes off. They must be terrified of him.

I've decided that my ideal ticket in '08 is Clark/Obama, although I would also very happily vote for Obama/Clark. Or Obama/anyone really. He's not my first choice for all sorts of complex reasons, but if he got the nomination, I would still be very excited.
Maybe I'm just too young, but has there ever been a candidate that the other side started slurring so desperately a full year before the friggin' primary let alone the general election.

I know there's always a lot of bad blood within the party themselves about this time. And usually if the veep has intentions of running, he'll be slandered early on, as well. I seriously think Obama has a decent shot at taking this thing, smoker or not. Definitely as a running mate, at least.

Hillary Clinton is a fraud, and between her and a futuristic cyborg with Barry Goldwater and Ann Coulter DNA, I abstain.
