Thanks guys. Can't believe I'm in my mid-twenties. I feel like a real geezer today.
But my mother, grandmother, and brother will be coming into town later today to take me out to eat and maybe do some shopping. Hopefully they'll stay around long enough so that we can eat at the enormous $20 cajun buffet that opens at 5:00.

Hopin for the early bird special at the giant buffet? That sounds like much more of a geezer than a guy in his mid-20's! Happy birthday Luke!

Why thank you. I'll never understand old people and buffets. My wife's grandfather comes all the way to Lafayette (about an hour drive) just to eat some Chinese buffet.
This buffet I'm wanting to go to, though, holy shit. Boudin, alligator, these fried bread things stuffed with crawfish, boiled crab, fried crab, crawfish fettucine, shrimp, and about twenty other things. It's excellent.

Really doesn't taste like chicken. It tastes like...alligator. Kinda like fish with the texture of chicken, but a little chewier. It has a sort of sweet flavor, and it's juicy. It's good fried, better blackened. But then everything is better blackened.
It sounds like something that you have to acquire a taste for, or something like frog legs that a lot of people eat just because it's different. But it's not like that. It's something you can taste for the first time and love.

I like alligator. Had it a few times. Yum. I only know of two places to get it around here (well, it's two different locations of the same restaurant), but every time I go there I'm sure to get some 'gator. It's been a long time though.
Happy birthday, Luke.
