I'm sure what I say about fat people & their non-action can be applied equally to the fact that I spent nine years smoking weed almost every day & have only just managed to stop. Or that I drink too much. But I take full responsibility for that & for all the negative side effects that come with it, like the fact that I'm now on epileptic meds.
But I don't hear too many overweight people saying "I'm fat because I eat too much & I don't exercise enough". Its all "oh, our culture promotes over-eating & there isn't enough awareness on healthy diet blah blah". Who doesn't know that vegetables are healthy & that exercise is good for you? Make all the excuses you want, at the end of they day, you're still fat because of what you're doing (and not doing).

This is something I get bitter about because I've always been a slim person & I get a lot of shit for that. Women are openly hostile to women who are thin & men can be too. All my life I get people telling me that I must be anorexic or that I should go eat a steak, just because I'm lean. Well, go shove that steak up your ass. I'm not anorexic, I eat more than most men I know, I just happen to exercise six times a week.
Thin people have to put up with comments like that all the time, I'm not going to coddle fat people.

that's like me then. i don't smoke, though i smoke any cigarette offered to me in clubs and concerts by friends who do.
but i don't smoke. and the office fools that smoke right outside the building piss me off... polluting my lungs with their inescapable fumes as i go to lunch or to get coffee. idiots.
smoking is such a mental crutch.

...not all smokers just the whiny ones. My wife smokes a couple a day and I have several other friends who smoke but the ones who bitch and think they should be able to smoke whenever and where ever piss me off.

I'm not anorexic, I eat more than most men I know, I just happen to exercise six times a week. Thin people have to put up with comments like that all the time, I'm not going to coddle fat people. Absolutely fair. My sister-in-law is 5'11 and a size 2 or 4. She gets comments all the time about how she needs to eat more and it really pisses her off... meanwhile, she eats more than most people I know and certainly has no type of eating disorder. She's just naturally tiny, small-boned and was a gymnast for years and years. I'm not overweight, but will never be a size 4, no matter how much I exercise. But I'm OK with that. I hate going to the gym but I do it because I like good food and good booze and if I don't work out, I'll weigh 300 pounds. Pretty easy math. So I still wish I weighed 10-15 pounds less than I do, but I'm well aware that it's up to me to make that happen - and no one's fault but my own if I don't. Even though I'm not naturally tiny, it still pisses me off when people give really slim people a hard time. If you wouldn't openly rib a fat person about needing to lose 50 pounds, you shouldn't be OK with ribbing a really slim person about gaining it. It's just out of total insecurity that that became "acceptable." People need to take accountability for their actions in all sorts of ways. Blaming other people/corporations for them being overweight is just yet another example.

I always thought the smokers who huddle in a little doorway when it's cold and rainy outside where pretty pathetic.

Smokers piss me off because they're a drain on the health system & its all due to medical conditions they're essentially brought about in themselves. By that token, drinkers account for a sizeable proportion of hospital admissions & I'm one of them, so its a case of same shit different bucket. Smokers make up a far greater amount of health system drain, though. The biggest thing that shits me about smokers is most of them are forever complaining about being a smoker. They say this as they light up another fag. Shut the hell up & stop smoking then. Your cravings aren't that bad. I had a heroin-addicted friend go cold turkey in my house & she kicked it & managed to stay off. Smokers who say they "can't" quit are also lazy. I have more respect for the ones who say "I can quit, I just don't want to". I'm all bitter & ranty & uptight today. Its because I haven't smoked a joint for days & days

I always thought the smokers who huddle in a little doorway when it's cold and rainy outside where pretty pathetic. I mean, I really couldn't care less what other people do with their bodies. I just find it hard to be sympathetic to those who've been smoking a for a long time and end up with health issues. That's really it.

Tunes, I think you're actually a really good size. You seem quite tall in the pics I've seen of you, and I don't even think you'd need to lose any weight. You look great. When tall women lose weight they can look a little bony & gaunt. We can carry some extra pounds & still look gorgeous.
I'd actually love to have your body shape. I'd like to have some more meat on me.

I don't care if you smoke, just don't bitch about it and don't get all offended when somebody complains...that shit is bad for you and you know it's bad for you. It's your habit, not mine.

I'd like to have some more meat on me. Thanks Layla. I'm 5'10, so tall enough I guess. Like you said, the good thing is we can put on a few extra pounds and no one seems to notice. I have a good friend who's 5'1 and she curses me often. But I'm my own worst critic I think (isn't everyone?), so I've struggled with body image pretty much forever, always wanting to be skinnier with smaller thighs/boobs/arms/tummy/what have you. Even now, at 29, I still dislike the way I look a lot of days. I'd be all too happy to be built like my sis-in-law (who sounds like she's built much like you - very ballerina-like.) It's totally silly, but at least explains the gym membership and attempted healthier eating. So if you want more meat on you, you're more than welcome to take a little of mine!

no one's ever happy with the way they are.. not any single human being on the planet, no matter how they look.
