Ha, yeah, I remember the first D&R post I ever saw. It was right after Skvor went off on one of his metal rants that flew WAAAYYYYYYY over everyone else's heads as usual...then here comes D&R to expand upon and critique everything ol' Skvor said. 'Twas amazing.
But right now, yeah, I'd like to see more of the Canadian crowd, especially the dearly-missed tunes. Wouldn't mind Lumen popping in, I know she got an e-mail or two from us...chem needs to pop in, too...
Although, yeah, I know a lot of people are just lurking right now.

Anyone have Phils or Chems email addresses?
Hey Luke, do you have Ekul's adress?

Drum said he e-mailed Phil already. I hear that chem is covered, but I just don't know for sure.
ekul's locked out of this place, so he's gonna stay in hiding until RS is back up. Unless they erased everything, then, well, ekul's dead.

I thought it'd be the coke, or heart attack watching Hentai...never dissolved in a shut down internet message board.

Plus I just got an e-mail from Brother Hollow this morning, saying he's fine and just had hardly been around the boards at all for a coupla months...but that he'd stay in touch. Fucker still owes me a beer next time he comes into Chicago...

ekul, man, I'm gonna miss that guy. I really hope the boards get back in working order just so he can make his big comeback. Really, though, think he's been dying for years now.

Starting to notice one aggravating thing about these boards. I keep getting this message telling me that there are too many connections and I need to wait thirty seconds to view the boards. Nicht so gut, that, especially if we're getting even more people in here soon...

Oooooh great call on Dead&Restless - I'd love it if someone could bring that dude out of hiding. I think I even still have an email from him somewhere, he once emailed me out of the blue because I'd posted abut this little dinky truck stop restaurant in New Hampshire that served French Cruller Toast (heart attack on a plate, but amazing!) and he wanted to know the exact name and address of the restaurant!! That's why I loved that guy.
Well, that and the fact that he knew more about death metal than anyone else on earth. It's like when we were all listing our cd collections, we all had pretty similar stuff... starting out with stuff like abc, adverts, and you will know us by the trail of dead, tori amos, whatever... then all of a sudden d&r starts posting his list and it's just like WHAT THE FUCK is all that stuff?? abrexis anapraxis amebix autopsy abrasivedeath aggravatedbleeding anabaptist alfalfasprouts... come again?! Just didn't look remotely like anyone else's list, and it went on for fucking pages and pages of bands you never even heard of with ridiculous fucking names like Rotting Christ (well OK I heard of them) and shit.... god that guy was great...
Cheers, M

I'll see what I can do, Doc. I did the Coffee Shop that way (out of necessity at the time).

Hope they don't have weenie servers, for sure, but who knows. Not to sound all ungrateful...I'm starting to love this place! Good job, strat-o.

Nice looking avatar Mary. What's the story behind that? Not much of a story...it's by this Chicano artist George Yepes. I was visiting a friend in D.C. a few summers ago and there was a little Chicano art exhibit at the Smithsonian, and that painting was in it, and I was so struck by it that I scribbled down the artist and title (la pistola y el corazon) so I could look him up when I got back home. Turns out that Los Lobos used this exact painting for the cover of one of their albums, but I didn't know that when I first came across the painting, so any Los Lobos reference is purely incidental! I really like it though... the black and white and red, the skeletons, the toughness, the fact that the two highlighted objects are a gun and a heart...it's like the painted equivalent of a Mexican revolutionary's love poem or something. Cheers, M
