JESUS GOD i almost just threw the biggest "i hate computers" hissy fit to end all hissy fits just now! but at least I'm here. thanks M and luke for the e-mail. God, now that this technical difficulty has befallen me I've got 2 screennames (for some reason the password for "Lumen" stopped working after the first time I logged in and won't e-mail through to my aol account so I can retrieve it...i don't know how to get around here, help help...

These certainly seem to be very nice boards, don't know why they don't like ME!

Now, is there more etiquette here or something? Just seems all this thread/topic business is very important here. I'll try not to offend...Anyway, before the big mess I was gonna say how GLAD I AM to have found everyone! I was in a near depression (i'm kidding, really) -- I've been listening to Under the big Black Sun and had no one to tell that I really have decided I like it. I thought of a really great 10 list. AND, I had a funny story the other day (can't think of it now, of course.) A girl needs her RS for God's sake! Or a place with the same people only better....good thinking, strat! (Oh, what the hell, I'm always late on everything)

Hope yer doing well! I don't think there's really any particular etiquette around here, but I bet a bunch of folks would be really pscyhed if you started up your North Poll board again! (ok, at least, I would!)

I've recreated the ol' random top 10 board, too, so go post your great idea for a top 10 list there

How does one create a board? It sounds kind of scary and awful according to some backposts I was reading...but yeah, if possible I'd love to have my little board ressurected *'over here'. (Man, I really wanted to say *'up in here', but in case jllm is around, I refrained...when's he gonna learn that ghetto speak is where it's at? )

let's see, i maybe can remember the list...

So is everyone here? What's about CWA, he MIA or something? (I'm just going through names in my head here and I haven't seen his on here. )

Glad to see you, Bow - you may not realize it, but I have enjoyed your RS posts. I posted to you one night at RS, but it got eaten and I never retried. It was at Random Top 10, and during a high traffic period, so I just had to let it go after the context was lost. But it was something to do with your tri-name and other stuff. I think I related a story thusly:

They have an annual festival in downtown Birmingham called City Stages, and it has become quite a tradition. A few years ago, we were trying to decide which act to see that was closing the evening. One act was John Sebastion, and we opted for that, hoping for some cool Lovin' Spoonful stuff. Well, it wasn't anything like that - it was JS with an acoustic guitar, and it was more like "Storytime with Grandpa." We quickly bailed and went to see Iggy Pop, who was just getting underway. Now, I knew of Iggy, but didn't realize what a show was in store. It turned out to be the highlight of the 3-day festival for me! What an energized spectacle! He really commanded the performance - it was like a 50+ year-old head on a 20-something body, shirtless, climbing the light trusses, jumping off, baiting the cops, running around the stage - it was unreal! And the music was very good, too! It was way more than I expected from the 'proto-punk' icon. Awfully glad I got to see him. I'd go again. And he's so soft-spoken and articulate on these VH-1 rockumentaries...
