weeell, i got an email bout this and viola, nice to see everyone's found an alternative. is there any news as to how long they're keeping the boards down? is this a permanment thing, or just a little extended? im guessing, from mary's post, that html no longer is needed. odd. ive been really sick and working on my hands and knees at housekeeping, hence why i havent been on for awhile. i have been uploading all my cds onto itunes, which makes me so happy. am rediscovering music i totally forgot about. anywho....

i don't understand the format - how do you create a new thread? and do you have to reply to post?

Hello, Drum, Res, Dwazee! Welcome! Glad folks are trickling in...
Res, you can create threads at the main page for each board (such as "General Threads" and "Starting Out." Look for the "new thread" button in the bar. I'll be changing the title of "Starting Out." I'm still trying to figure this place out, too! Suggestions and comments welcome!

RileyDog threatened to force me to listen to 24 hours of Hall & Oates and Village People so I figured I better get my ass signed up.

Hey! I'm here. Took some work, evidently this board doesn't recognize [shadow=red,left,300]AOL[/shadow] users.
Thanks strat-o for giving us an alternative, and thanks to the canadianbankerdog for sending me the link. I didn't know where to lurk after I saw the rs site closed.
Yeah, I wonder what the new incarnation is going to look like and if they will archive the old stuff or just wipe it clean.
What's happening with everyone?

Yeah, thanks a bundle to Strat for the alternative home here. I'd imagine the boards will be down for a short while, so an alternative is just what my addiction needed. It's a shame that the millions of posts will probably be lost, but hey, maybe we'll get lucky. Gotta be optimistic -- though maybe I should be happy that some of my backlog has been permanently erased... I set up another Project board so we can quench all of our nerdy list-making needs. Hope everyone will play along.

Looks like we're getting there. People are probably hearing about this place from different sources, but if you see someone missing from the list of addresses on the email you received, make syre you give them the heads up. There's probably not anyone with a complete address book of all posters.

we should start some "american idol - false idol?" or "jessica - queen of everything?" style boards just so we feel more at home.

There's something to be said for starting new isn't there?
I would speculate there won't be a lot of Clay Aiken chatting here, but then I never really hung out at the Main Boards.
