You saying that also kind of got me thinking... what is it that they say about too much of a good thing usually turns ugly eventually?? without someone to rock the boat, we might end up fighting with each other just to vent... ya never know.

I was a regular poster at CE. It really pissed me off, the way it turned into such a cesspool. I'll defend Numbers, inasmuch as he used to post intelligent opinion.
Drum, Mary, Strat, others? I have to say, I backed Numbers when he was posting his legitimate POV. It grew far beyond that. I got so sick and tired of the feud, the flaming, the muliple user names, the bombs. I hate to say it, but I'd think twice about Numbers. Just my opinion.
Drum, I have to ask you, given the inaccuracies of my monitor...is that an Irish flag you're flying? Green/White/Orange?

Strat-0, I thought you handled the Knight thing admirably and entirely appropriately. I don’t quite understand why some people stayed pissed off, considering it was settled in compromise fashion, but c’est la vie. You're doing a good job in a thankless task administering these boards. If something like it happens again, basically what you did there is the way to go IMO. As for what to do if Numbers or Orb show up here, I would say nothing as long as they stick within the rules. The question was raised in the context of inviting people to these boards and so I said I would strenuously object to inviting Numbers and I would. If he turns up here, though, he turns up here. The rules have to be the same for everyone and as long as he sticks within them, he’s free to post here. stratman, my ancestry is mainly Irish but no, your monitor is displaying correctly. I’m a Newfoundlander – that’s the pink-white-green unofficial tricolour of Newfoundland. If you’re into flags, as I am, it’s got a pretty interesting history. The only flag in the world that contains the colour pink. The green, of course, is for the Irish. The white derives from the Scottish national flag and is also meant to symbolize peace between the communities of the island (the Irish Troubles had nothing on Newfoundland in the 17th, 18th and early 19th centuries unfortunately). The pink is said to derive from the Tudor rose of England. Twenty-four years ago, Newfoundland hoisted a new provincial flag based on the Union Jack (which served as the flag of the province even after we joined Canada). I like it, but I always thought we should have gone with the pink, white and green.

honestly, strat...don't worry about being called a "nazi" for deleting someone off these message boards. if people don't like that approach, they're not being forced at gun point to join these boards in the first place. i don't know exactly what happened with the knight thing, but the point is that you have set up these boards with the intention of providing a cleaner community than rs. yes, there are little cliques within rs, but when hasn't that been the case? this whole us vs. them thing is a tad silly. there's no pressure to log in and read something. don't feel bad, strat. we're all thankful for you taking the time to set this up and bestow us with wilson. i missed the whole orb-rascist thing. she was overly nice though, which was a bit freaky. suspicious for all the wrong reasons, huh? howe, you hit the nail on the head. after spending a whole weekend with mellie in the flesh, i don't see how anyone could be horrible to her though, she can hold her own...lol

I had a feeling that it wouldn't take TOO long before there was some ill feeling creeping in to the new boards here... I mean, lets face it, we're a community of different people wqith different ideals and ways of looking at things, and with so many here, there are bound to be tensions, especially over issue like trolling which utterly ruined the old boards.
This is pretty standard online community sorta stuff... people get upset with something, go away and then come back. I dunno how many times this happened on the old boards.
For what its worth I do think Strat has done a great job keeping the forum going, and getting it started. OK, so there was one controversial decision, which as I understand has been revoked... this is not really a big deal or anything new. This online community isn't small and you're going to get these tensions always... especially wqhen we have been squeezed off our regular comfort zones.
All in all though, my experience of these new boards has been essentially a fantastically positive one!

Drum, thanks a lot for the flag info. That was very interesting. I'm predominately Irish also (with a little Scottish thrown in), and I really enjoy the stories behind flags.
How 'bout them Calgary Flames? I was actually rooting for them to beat San Jose, and now that they're in the Final, I really want them to take Lord Stanley's cup all the way home. The city of Calgary must be going absolutely nuts.

(Just to clarify, after rereading #313, I don't consider Jac or anyone else here a "sworn mortal enemy." That didn't come out right and might not have been clear. The point was that there's room here for everybody despite differences, past or present.)

Tropical Orb is/was an idiot. She visited the Wacko board over at RS for a couple of days before she was driven off by all of us. Pure troll I tell ya!
I've also come across her over at Slark's board at RS to find that the only thing she did over there was kiss Slark's ass 24/7 and agree with everything he had to say.
What I didn't know is that she's (suspected of being) the same person as LNL. She was a regular Wacko board poster lately and all I can say is I'm glad she hasn't found her way here.

Strat,
Sorry to be a pest but are you going to split up the various Music-boards up in easy to locate separate boards as well?
I use the Forum-jump to travel inbetween boards and it would be a massive help if the Music-boards were subdivided too.
