Um, hello, most of those people don't have cars. There was no mass transit out of New Orleans. There's a difference between "idiocy" and "poverty." Um, hello, no shit there's a difference between idiocy and poverty. But there are quite a few idiots who didn't leave just because they're hard-headed, and I know several of them personally. Now we don't know if they're dead or alive. And I'll be the first to say that, dead or alive, they were fucking morons. And I'm sure they aren't alone.

The Lady has a real good point. Too many people to count were given plenty of advance warning - multiple times. Hard headed indeed. Obviously this does nothing to lessen the tragedy. The looting is sickening.

So. Lady. Fukkers. What do you think of Munky's statement a little while back that the new album would be titled "The Flood", and the cover showing the guys drowning -? Do you think they'll scrap that idea because of Katrina, now-? Or will Katrina only motivate them all the more to finalize that plan-? Indeed it makes me wonder if Katrina had begun already when Munky said that, or if they decided upon that idea before all the New Orleans news came flooding in? Obviously floods are nothing new. I was just curious if you've considered this .. .

First off, I think Munky is full of shit and just trying to stir us up. As for Katrina, she didn't turn apocalyptic until this past weekend and Munky (allegedly) made those comments on the 23rd. Obviously no connection. Unless Munky is a prophet.

Haha, shoulda figured. Wasn't it awesome? I saw it on Saturday, and I couldn't believe how much better it was than I had anticipated. I mean, the preview made it look good (that's why I went & saw it) but it exceeded my expectations. What a cool ending

So I met this guy named Sam, he's like 24 yrs old, and when he was over at my place recently, he remarked that KORN was his favorite band, ever, period. Needless to say we hit it off right away, I proudly showed him my entire Compleat Korn Vinyl Collection, and all the posters and shit. He was freaking out. Then he said something that hit me. He was all like, "they've been around ever since I was born" and I was "Well, they've been around since . . . 1992 or so, their first album was in '94", and as he did the math, we both realized that he was about 14 when Korn first came out, and he was spazzin over each album I showed, showing special enthusiasm for iSsuEs & Untouchables. At one point he remarked how "Korn always mellows me out when I listen to em" and I totally related. It struck me again just how relevant Korn truly is. Seriously, nothing has ever been clearer to my "music loving mind" than the observation that Korn is not only on EQUAL terms with LED ZEPPELIN themselves, but I won't bat an eye when I say their legacy HAS and SHALL CONTINUE TO exceed that of the mighty Zeppelin's. Before the eavesdropper hits their Emergency Brakes & tries to rip me a new one, I say to thee "Whoa nelly", and allow me to explain the reasoning behind such a statement. It has NOTHING to do with how much you might personally appreciate/loathe/tolerate/ or despise their music. Rather, it has everything to do with the IMPACT on millions of SOULS who were BORN INTO THIS WORLD AFTER YOU, which KOrn has undeniably affected deeper & harder & in more numbers than Zep ever dreamed. In all fairness to Zeppelin, of course there are more PEOPLE here into this 21st century, but ah well, them's the breaks... Yeah I'm talkin to all you older fucks who think you know so much about "classic" rock music. Listen up close. KORN IS HERE TO STAY and they have had more of an impact on a larger demographic of younger people than you could possibly calculate or correlate in your head. Sure Zeppelin was the "cannon shot heard round the world", that is indisputable and their status as the progenitors of heavy metal/rock music is eternal & rock solid. But it occured to me whilst listening to Sam wax eloquent on KOrn's impact on his life -- (to him there IS NO ONE that can even come close to their Ruling Status) -- it occured to me that if Zep was a "cannon shot" heard round the world, then fukking KORN is the god damn dirty ass NUCLEAR BOMB heard round the fuckin world, and I do mean the whole fuckin WORLD. This has been a free public service announcement expressly for the die hard fukkers of this board. The rest of you can just fuck right off

Yes, Korn has had impact. But pick any popular band on earth and they probably have had just as much an impact on a die-hard group of fans. It doesn't mean they're the greatest fucking band that ever breathed good air. Don't get me wrong; I love Korn, they're my favorite band. But I don't assume that just because I love them, everyone else will, or should. I just think you're over the top in your enthusiasm.
