Ken says: I've (read) heard it at least three times in our years here, and it still makes me literally laugh out loud....but she's telling it better and better, isn't she? God, this is nearly PROSE(albeit w/a masochistic bent ): This didn't seem like the wisest idea with heads braided together, but I don't know, we got caught up in the excitement of the moment, and the next thing I knew, I was running down the seating aisle yelling "ouch! shit! fuck!" every 2 seconds because my head kept slamming into my friend's head.LMAO! Fantastic! ~ Sorry, Mary....couldn't be helped.

Wow, I dunno what the deal is with alternative radio lately. I hear the main modern rock station at work all the time, and it always gets to me how, between all the whiny shit they play, you hear so much Franz Ferdinand, Von Bondies, Modest Mouse, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Killers, and other somewhat good stuff.
But I was really SHOCKED last night. I'm rolling some silverware in the kitchen, and the "top nine most requested songs of the day" are on. Number six, sandwiched inbetween "Staring Down the Barrel of a Forty-five" and that horrible song with that Seether band and the Evanescence chick, was Muse's "Time Is Running Out." Thought that was pretty sweet.

yeah rockdoc..I think you're right....Mary is telling it better and better each time..first time I heard it, I virtually spewed bagel and yogurt on the keyboard!!.....on one hand I felt the immense pain she must have gone through...then on the other hand I thought for such an amazingly bright individual, how could she be so blatantly misguided to engage such an act!!!..................but I guess the pain kinda goes along with a NiN concert anyway, right?......I mean doesn't NiN mainly attract psychologically-compromised suburbanites?!!!!!!!

then on the other hand I thought for such an amazingly bright individual, how could she be so blatantly misguided to engage such an act!!!.................. ahem. i believe the answer lies in a combination of excessive alcohol consumption and general adolescent idiocy!!! it is kinda fun to tell the story now that the pain itself is a thankfully distant memory, though NP: The Saints - (I'm) Stranded (song: Demolition Girl) Cheers, M

Strawman may say other wise, but you should at the least pick up Eternally Yours by them Bowiglou. I'm Stranded is pretty good too.

LOL, Bow...no, that's a picture of my favorite pro wrestler, Chris Jericho.
There's some pics of me on pages eight or nine or so of this board, if you're wondering what I look like. Plan on putting more up on the Friends and Family thing later tonight, if I have time between tons of schoolwork and getting ready to leave for Bonnaroo tomorrow.

Thank you, and goodnight.

Hell if it isn't bambis friend thumper. What a story Mary. Reminds me of the time two gf’s of mine decided to do the Siamese twin thing at a Halloween bash. They bought 2 black minis, two T shirts split em’ down the middle then sewed them into one. Looked great but picture trying to load these two extremely drunk fools into a VW Rabbit at 2 in the morn. Christ I was busting a gut yet getting PO’d all at the same time. No where near as good as your tale though. Works with hammers etc…. Where’d you get that rnr? It’s mostly mud, brushes & rollers.

Mary, thanks your from the bottom of my heart for telling that story. I somehow have managed to never hear it before and WOW is it a great one. I just can't believe it. I couldn't decide if I wanted to laugh or cry. Hearing people I think of as intelligent relate stories of idiocy like that (please forgive me) just makes me feel so much better about all the stupid shit I've gotten myself into. So thank you. Seriously. So anyway, I saw Beth Orton last night. Kind of a surprise, she just appeared on the roster at Headliner's last week, out of the blue. No doubt because Louisville is en route to Manchester, TN where Bonnaroo is...anyway, it was just beautiful. I urge anyone who has the opportunity to see her to DO IT because she's just a magical performer. It was very low-key, of course, it was acoustic. But her voice is appallingly, stunningly perfect live. Probably the best vocalist I've ever seen live. And even the songs I didn't know drew me in. Sadly, she wouldn't perform one of my favorite songs because she couldn't do it alone...But oh my, what a beautiful show.
