Hey Lumen - I loved Eternal Sunshine too. Twas the most interesting fim I'd seen in a long time - and required full concentration. Nice to see Kate out of corsets and....was it my imagination or was Jim Carey rather dishy ? ? ? yes, doll, Jim was looking rather the dish, he was. of course, i've always had a kind of a crush on him...can't explain it. moreso when he's not being so rubbery-faced even though I guess that's part of the charm at times, too... But really, he's a handsome guy. I want to see it again!

(for Sopranos lovers, and Mary specifically)
if you guys have already seen this book, well, whatevuh. But I saw this title at Borders yesterday and OF COURSE thought of Blaney:
The Sopranos and Philosophy -- I Kill Therefore I Am (Greene and Vernezze)
How perfect! It was filled with actual passages from great philosophers and apparently criticisms of Tony and family and I read that one of the editors is the guy who played Big Pussy (or seomthing...maybe he wrote the foreword). I only should have been looking for a birthday gift for Mary and not a belated gift for my friend who's hard to shop for.

Yeah, this song rocks. You heard that new Gene Simmons song? Dear God, it's the worst thing EVER. Nothing sucks that bad.

I think if anyone even heard Gene Simmons was contemplating a solo album, they would have made a fairly safe assumption that it would be shit. I've mmade that assumption. Haven't heard the song. Hope I don't. Still certain it's shit.

Oh, I knew it was going to be terrible. I just didn't know that he was going to dress up like Kid Rock and make music that sounds like an even shittier version of the guy.

Maybe you should hear some more Kiss songs your not familiar with if that's the case. I haven't heard the new Gene Simmons solo song, doubt i'll hunt it down.

It has come to my attention that given my new change in poster status, JLLM officially ... looks like me...
Congratulations buddy. All those years of having a clever user name have finally paid off. You look like a banker.
God. I like the sound of that, although it doesn't leave much room for personal growth.

Cool lumen - I was wondering when they were going to hurry up and give us a Sopranos and Philosophy book, being as there are already books in that series for The Simpsons, Seinfeld, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Lord of the Rings! ( Surely there's also one coming for Six Feet Under, no?? I mean, a show that's about death - it just begs for some existential analysis!) I'm a little wary of those books just because they're sooo popularized, and while the analysis of the shows are usually pretty interesting, the philosophy itself is woefully watered-down, but 'sok - they're fun bathub reading!! (I love nothing more than taking a long hot bath, listening to Nick Cave on the bathroom stereo - yes, we have a bathroom stereo - and reading something light) Speaking of the Sopranos I am seriously depressed that it's all over until 2006, and then... forever. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself. I'm going to have to start watching the whole damn show all the way over again from the very beginning. Six Feet Under just doesn't do it for me the same way, although I'm glad the second season is finally slated to come out, first week of July. But that show is too bloody melodramatic for me, and there's something about Alan Ball's depiction of female characters that drives me up a fucking wall. NP: The Smiths - The Queen is Dead (song: Frankly Mr. Shankly) Cheers, M

I've never seen these Philosophy and... books until that one, but they sound cute. A SFU one would be ideal. I figured it would be pretty light reading, it kind of has a tone that makes fun of itself even while you're reading it. But light reading is great, and you'r eright about reading in the tub. Very relaxing. But I don't mind the women on SFU. I like that they're all so different. And so real -- all fucked up and ridiculous no matter how tough they try to act. I bet you'll love season 3 and 4...especially when you get to the episode where Nate is playing "Los Angeles" by X real loud... But why does it have to be 'til 2006 for Sopranos?? ? Prolonging the magic, I suppose?

I love the Black Diamond cover on The Replacement's album LET IT BE. I just found that on vinyl the other day for a buck-fitty.

Riley - got a considered opinion on the PJH album yet?
I'm so behind on all the boards. Anyone care to give me a brief recap of RileyGod's last 500 posts?

Chris Bell ยป Look Up
Look up, look up You'll see the sky Look up, look up He's the life Waiting to love you Wanting to reach you Look up, look up You'll see the sky The man walking down the street Keeps his head down low Doesn't look up Wants to give up He just keeps on looking down, Staring at the ground Standing here at the corner I'm watching him walk away Standing here and I don't know why But I'm thinking it could be a great day Look up, look up You'll see the sky Oh I wish you knew him He's been waiting for so long If you look up you'll see him You know we're all alone Look up, look up You'll see the sky Look up, look up He's the life Waiting to love you Wanting to reach you Look up, look up You'll see the sky
