I had the thought that you might have it already, it sounded a lot like something that you would listen to, so I might be in luck!!! They reminded me a lot of Epicure, but different.... I dont know how to explain it and I REALLY wish I could remember their names now... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR at my memory.

Hi mellie!
As fars as my "other half", Andrew and I broke up at the end of April, moved out of our shared accomodation in August and have remained friends throughout the ordeal.
It's funny one can summarize things in one sentence, but it's so so so much more...complicated than that!
Anyway, I'm glad you are doing well....

Uhh, I only know them by name- we got the disc instore but I haven't listened to it. Well, there's so many stuff coming in the store... So my thoughts are quite blank, I'm afraid.
Aah, a nice day off- no shopping, no laundry, just me, my DVD-player, the new Kurosawa boxset and some food.

Date: Mar. 22, 2004 2:47 PM So that would be "Of Skins and Heart"? Darn fine first incanration of the band, I say! Quite rudimentary compared to the later depths they were to acheive, butdefinitely showing a flair for songwriting and a will to make their sound unique... and of course, the lyrics, always a strength, are top notch... still an album I like to spin quite often too!
dollybeadz writes: 1817 of 1825
Date: Mar. 22, 2004 2:54 PM Yep that would be the one. The only other I have is Starfish downloaded, but I gather they have quite a catalogue. I found a second hand record shop that has a number of them. Took me all my willpower not to but the lot. Where would you suggest next?
_Scottsy_ writes: 1818 of 1825
Date: Mar. 22, 2004 2:59 PM Hmmmm... very big question...I'd recommend ANY of their stuff, to be honest, it's all pretty much "can't miss" in my opinion... :-)
But really, if you're enjoying Starfish / Of Skins and Heart, the best place to go next is Seance, which is sort of between the two in terms of style and the stage the band was at. Don't overlook the excellent "Heyday" as I did too... I had it sitting in my collection for months after the first listen, not realising it's an incredibly solid and ambitious record...
If you're after their more modern incarnation, don't hesitate to pick up a copy of "Hologram of Baal". Excellent album.
So basically... older stuff: Seance, Heyday
newer stuff: Hologram of Baal
All of these are great places from which to start and spread outwards, methinks.

My greetings to the two re-uniting 'Pantless-ers' in the great sovereign state of Wisconsin, US of A, Mellie and Scottsy...and wishing Scott some massive Good Luck and careful forethought in venturing out this weekend...this Sunday, Chicago's forecast is for a high temp of 14ºF...so I know that way the hell 'up north' there...HOOooo-Eee, you're in for it!
I mean you can't stay in bed 24/7, can ya? Ahem...
When you do, one word Scottsy, 'over-dress'....don't get yourself sick...remember, you're not from there...
~
BTW, what does one search for to have those RS archives come up...what keywords? Google, right?

Yeah, use Google and try & be inventive with keywords to produce varied results. Such as Rnrsrx...aw, whatever it was, + (your favorite board name) + other posters names, etc
Then, when it pulls up results, click on the tiny blue hyperlink marked "cached", and it will pull up old snapshots of those sites.
You can get some pretty interesting results.
