Haha! I almost posted something along those exact lines in response Mantis, but I just had to let it go. It's like arguing with an enraged boxer on speed.
Boo, weird silliness. Although I suddenly sort of want to write a play with crazy exchanges like this. I can see myself getting slapped with a defamation lawsuit on opening night. I'll be famous!
I can't remember where you posted that Zazen Boys video ryo, but I did watch it this morning (internet connection was crap last night) and believe me, if I learned to play bass, I would take the opportunity to be as ridiculous as possible with it. I'm afraid I would probably steal the lead singer's thunder live and get myself laid off pretty quick. I stick with piano. No funny business even remotely possible with a 2,000 pound piano.

I'm getting really concerned that Janet is going to cancel her Houston show. She usually cancels the day of which in my situation would really suck as I'm flying up, staying the night and all. I hope she's healthy and o.k. and all but damn I really want to see her live for once in my lifetime. Tina's next the following Monday and the fabulous Madonna in November. What an inconsiderate bitch. No one is allowed to cancel on the day of their show, unless they cut their hand off or something. Do you think she might cut a body part off? Because that might be okay.

Did rocdoc just defend being able to (incorrectly) spot the secret sedaka invitation PM as life experience and use 9/11 to justify it?only as interpreted by an idiot such as you. ~ ryo, it wasn't anything until you and samples needed it EXPLAINED to you. i mean, 'ummm, i don't get it' from samples did it.....and the implied wicked deleted post with which you apparently justifiedly flailed me... and what i meant/implied in a one-line (mistaken, oops...but honest) comment was NOTHING guys, nothing. samples said it 'we do SO well at ignoring posts...' but here, my one-liner became this huge (maybe guilt-saddled) obstacle for ya's.... i just answered. Good. Now can we just end this and hopefully ignore each other in the future? I come here to talk about music, and I'd rather not have to deal with any of the stupid Sedaka/Castaways baggage. that'll apparently have to be fine, ryo. it sucks but imo, you, samples, thorn and skvorecky have essentially jumped out of your skins at some totally self-concocted affront which you chose to feel. ~ skvor, 'pretty nice'? i impugned them? bullshit. nothing of the sort. rank overreaction (and personal insult) which i just didn't wish to leave lying there. same as your post dictating censure.

So how do you enjoy a show where the person is lipsynching the whole time??
Do they have a live band or do they just dance to pre recorded tracks?
Why not just go to a club if that's the case.....man, that's weird.

I very rarely check this board because, face it, I just don't have all that many opportunities to check out much live music. But I heard there was a ruckus going on so I thought I'd check it out. This has nothing to do with any grudges past or present or any personal issues between myself or anybody else, but Doc, you kind of came out of left field with the insults. I'm not just sticking up for friends, either. It just seemed so unwarranted. Maybe I missed something. I probably did. Something Sedaka related? Who gives a fuck? Obviously you do, rnr. What in God's name do you care who gets invited there, or if anyone might want to migrate from here to there or who got an invitation and you didn't and for crying out loud why do you feel like you have to put your two cents worth in every single fucking time Sedaka is mentioned? Okay, I've said enough, probably more than enough not being privy to any deletions or modifications that may have been made since I arrived. But it's disheartening to see my friends getting shit on (for no apparent reason) when the boards are already like a ghost town. I don't think you're trying to run anyone off, I don't really think you have ever TRIED to run anyone off, but sure appears that way, judging from what I HAVE seen here. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ When I first heard Janet Jackson was postponing some dates on her tour, the first thing I thought was, man, Pat is going to kill himself. No shit. Glad it didn't work out that way, Patlogi. Enjoy yourself. Let me know if something goes wrong and she flashes a tit or something.

Pat, I don't want to imply that going to those shows are bad experiences, don't get me wrong. I think it's cool that you are stoked. I just have always found it weird to see someone like Janet, Madonna, Britney, or anything in that genre "live". I'm just curious as to what's live about it. No offense.

Skvor - Aw, thanks dude. Though I have to admit, the idea of a censure motion seems kind of ridiculous! But I certainly appreciate your thought. Anyway, I'm done with this. Have fun JAC So the plan on Saturday was to go to this free concert held at some university featuring Shibusa Shirazu Orchestra, Ryodan, and Humbert Humbert. And then I find out there's a show with Hiroshi Watanabe (techno/house musician) and Keiichi Sokabe (former Sunny Day Service vocalist) held the same night. As much as I love Sokabe, I've seen him zillions of times so passing on his gig normally wouldn't hurt so much, but those shows aren't usually backed by a techno producer, so I'd like to go to this one. But, I've never seen Ryodan and Humbert Humbert, and have been wanting to catch both of them live for some time (I saw SSO last month with Soul Flower Union, so missing them isn't much of a biggie). However, the free concert starts at like 3 PM and ends at 8 or so. And the headliner is Shibusa Shirazu Orchestra who, like I said, I can afford to miss. So I'm wondering if I can resolve the dilemma by seeing Humbert Humbert and Ryodan, and then trekking over to Ebisu to see Watanabe/Sokabe at the Liquid Room. I'll have to check exactly where the university is located to see if it's logistically possible though. Also, I don't know if I'm actually prepared for something like that...

I don't think you're trying to run anyone off, I don't really think you have ever TRIED to run anyone off, but sure appears that way, judging from what I HAVE seen here. .... jac, first i cannot believe that you can't follow what went on from the post ryo made asking samples to 'check her PMs'...and my SIMPLE snark/sarc post about her 'writ' having been served, full stop. NOTHING further about sedaka, nothing. and then THEY were the ones needing to prop up the disingenuous act, forcing me to simply say 'YES this has been the SET pattern that happened loads of times'. WHY then should THEY so take to heart that i'd noticed it (and commented) during the usual totally DEAD day at the boards i've got eyes, pretty good perception and recognize a pattern. so fucking what. i just didn't feel like taking a penalty for ryo and samples' apparent neuroses regarding the LEAST implication of acknowledgement of sedka's working habits over here. i did NOT do a fucking thing wrong. and i do NOT give a rat's ass who's doing what over there. you DO know that saying about 'don't freak out about shit that you cannot control'? why?? i do not go there, the way you just said 'oh you DO!'. DAMN people, do what you like! OR wanting mySELF to be invited? seriously, are you nuts? the founding members there are out-sized classic pindick personalities who've had huge difficulties with me from day one. fuck 'em, honestly. no jac, for you this is ALL about friends propping up friends (or those you still wish to be friends with) no matter what i write or say to show how simple this was. i'm completely expendable to everyone here...read ' left here'. and like i've said, no-one here impresses me anymore to where i'd actually care enough to be some sort of enabling agent to obvious neurotic behavior. if i get treated normally, i DO come back happy as pie. but man, treat me so often with this preconceived, thoroughly sussed out notion that i am ALWAYS going to be an arrogant prick, a doctrinaire whack-job elder uber-conservative...well, fuck, what's there to like? and i do NOT come here often enough to put up with such stupid shit. these snap judgements (preCISEly what you did here jac) are what killed the respect i might have had once for the people who were here.
