2009/1/1 up 10th anniversary show with 23-piece orchestra in NY Dear Friends, As some of you may have heard, we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary with a special concert backed by a 23-piece orchestra conducted by Jeff Milarsky. The show will take place for one night only at the Society for Ethical Culture Concert Hall in New York City. This is actually our first time in our career to perform with additional instrumentation and we are excited to do this for the release of our newest album, Hymn To The Immortal Wind. It will be our only North American concert in support of Hymn To The Immortal Wind so please come join us on 5/8 in New York City. We are looking forward to share our new music live with all of you. www.nysec.org/rental-facilities/concert-hall/------------------------------ Can you even imagine. Mono + a 23-pc Orchestra. Some things in life are worth travelling for. This is one of those things. I'll be damned if I don't go to that show . . .

I just don't get the general air of not caring for Puscifer. I find the eclectic and amusing outfit far more than a novelty -- I personally consider their album "V is for Vagina" to be among the best releases of 2007. .... it's just that this schtick of their's is very 'one-note' you certainly see, right? oh yes, pretty darned obvious. without, of course, having heard a note of theirs. and yes, i've gone for other stupid/silly monikered bands before. but somehow it seems that the pussy-thing's been done, hasn't it? somewhere? so fine, i'm dl'ing 'v is for vagina' right now...

sweet, RocDoc - just lemme know what you think of Puscifer. As for their schtick being "one-note", I don't see, but maybe that's cuz I'm intent on focusing on the music itself, which I find ultimately rewarding, and quite enjoyable to listen to.
As far as I'm concerned, that's all that counts. The music.
So yeah, let us know how it rests with ya.
~
haha patten sounds like you had a ball on New Year's, way to go mate.

i dl'd a 2 song ep by puscifer that played into the 'ha-ha, let's fixate on pussy'-angle...but the v for vagina disc goes nowhere near that. atmospheric and sorta vaguely slow-mo reznor-ish goth-y grooves, but without the 'dread'.
comfortable.

My bd was swell - spent it with me mum, just like I wanted. Drank white russians and got a sunburn. My 44th, her 66th. Good times. That mono show was indescribable (hence, the vid). I've got another 2 minute vid of them performing "Where Am I?" (from their 2nd album "One Step More You Die" (it's a 2 min song). Will put that up soon. I just scored my tix to see TOOL this July. It will be my tenth time.

They should buy you a ticket for that show.
Contemplating to go and see AC/DC and Simon & Garfunkel later on this year but for some reason I'm not reallyinterested to fork over 300 dollars (!) a ticket to see these legends... I really want to see Springsteen somewhere in the States as the last gig he played in Sydney was such a disappointment.

ok this album is possibly one of the greatest live albums we've ever heard, sisy & I. Far beyond anything I personally expected, here is the track listing: Side One Ohio River Boat Song May It Always Be Hemlocks and Primroses The Glory Goes/Wolf Among Men We All Us Three Will Ride side two Easy Does It Lay and Love Rider Rambling Fever You Want That Picture Idle Hands Are The Devil's Playthings So "Funtown" is an abstract province - a place in NC where friends gather to party - and there, Bonny Billy joined forces with the PIcket LIne - a local bluegrassy outfit - and commited these songs to tape. There is an amazing version of Death to Everyone that you have to look up on Youtube - as it wasn't included on this, the final album - available only on vinyl and digitally. {Death to everyone - including the CD!} These songs shine because they are played easily and in a relaxed atmosphere. There's a really nice howl along by nearly everyone on wolf among wolves. All in all I consider myself lucky that I managed to score this album, as surely it will be out of print and then - - only those with record players will get to hear this music in all its vibrant and tragic beauty. A rare live capture sure to become legendary in no time.

a nice mid-size soccer stadium (the MSL champion Chgo Sting) in bridgeview IL....roughly 6700 south on harlem avenue. and it was built FOR the sting, for soccer so everything is close-in.
it's where the crossroads show was in 2007, which was prob it's first rock show.
now they do them there pretty often...the place is SUPER convenient.

you do not do 'concerts'?
....still THIS one is a festival, not a concert. 12 hours worth.
