That's why you wanna take a joint or two instead Shaner. Joints are just made for concerts.
To illustrate ( ;D) I smoked a joint by myself at the Primus gig last night and passed out/fainted three times in the parking lot. Got this giant bruise on my forehead and I'm not actually sure I'm not concussed. Good times...

Gin Blossoms really stunk up the stage at the fair last night. I was hugely disappointed. I mean, c'mon, I just wanted some simple mid-nineties alterna comfort, and they couldn't even provide that. It's amazing how they fucked up such an obvious, simple formula. I mean, how could they have sucked? It would have been so easy to please.
But no. I mean, every song sounded just like it does on the albums, which is cool for a nostalgia show like that. But the assholes, like, played everything they wanted to hear for about forty-five minutes, then clumped their hits in at the end. It was SO, SO fucking BORING. Terrible show, amazing how those guys fucked up something so simple.
Band on before them was the worst band I've ever seen in my life, though. Total fair band, bunch of old guys playing Zeppelin, Rush, and Ozzy covers, with the occasional bit of Audioslave or Tonic. Absolutely wretched, dude's voice was the worst squeal. Awful.

Speaking of weather and metal, I was watching VH1's "Most Metal Moments," and number 13 was that time a Dokken guitar solo literally made a volcano erupt. Seriously, other than that shit that went on in Mayhem, that's gotta be the most metal thing that ever happened. I thing I'd go on and hang up the guitar after that.

Easy, easy... Hey, don't go shitting on the 40 year old Slayer fans, Shane.... May Tao(or whomever), grant you the extra twenty years of life so that YOU may be one of those 40 year olds enjoying: (*insert whichever RAWKing wild band you're enjoying fiercely now, which will seem SO incongruous then*) ~ It'll happen, you'll see....AND at the same future time, you just might have some 20 year old pass you some nuclear reefer which'll cause you to fall down too...it's not beyond the realm.

Slayer Metallica Testament Tool Fantomas Tomahawk
Cred, right? My wife and I went to see Metallica(backed by Corrosion Of Conformity)5-6 years ago...Tool, a coupla tears ago right after Salival....watched Living Colour from the edge of their mosh pit a couple of summers ago, with Corey Glover stage-diving a reverse 1 and a ½ somersault right on top of us...loved EVERY moment!
Do we rawk? OH yes, I'd say so...
Admittedly more mainstrean rock usually(hell, I'm MARRIED!)but metal has been my first love for YEARS...

Well first I gotta apologize for the enormous size of this picture. I can't seem to get it to show up any smaller... technical difficulties. Primus was of course amazing, and at Red Rocks especially, since it is such a gorgeous venue. I thought the crowd could have been a little more psyched but I guess we did all right for being heavily under the influence of ridiculous amounts of drugs. They played for a couple hours and then did this half-hour intermission thing, came back and launched into "Jerry Was A Racecar Driver" and of course the crowd went insane. Not much moshing, because trhe structure of the amphitheatre doesn't really allow for that. Mostly hat was so amazing was the huge variety of people who came to see them. Metal-heads, hippies, fratboys, preps, punks, stoners, geeks.. lots of geeks.. Les is GOD. And there's just no more to say about taht. At one point he took about a bass and stood it up like a cello, played it with a bow but it was harsh and punchy as all hell. He's got this great chicken-dance thing going too now. Looked like they were having a good time. Here's my horrible huge picture.. again I'm sorry for stretching out the page.
