I Fought the Law and the Law Won - The Bobby Fuller Four
That's a cool song. Such a better song than I Fight Authority, Authority Always Wins by Johnny Cougar (aka, J C Meloncamp). Man, what was he thinking? The cop is obvious. Throw a few more awkward syllables in there! Quite possibly the worst lyricist of all time.

I like "Give A Little Bit" by Supertramp, but I can't stand their other songs. Weird.

These are "guilty pleasures", right? I like Cool Change by The Little River Band, but own absolutely none of their stuff.

"Give A Little Bit" has always been a soft spot for me as well Punk Chick.
I like that "Ride" track by The Vines, but I'm not sure I'll still think so in short order. Just really dig that hook right now. Shit band though.

I liked the first Vines album, they did a good rehash, plus the layering is cool. The new songs sounds kinda shitty though.

the first vines album is decent. it has some bleh tunes, but songs like "autumn shade", "factory", and "in the jungle" make it a worthy 5 dollar purchase.
as far as their second album goes though... very disappointing. a lot of people were hoping they'd become something with their second record, but it just didn't happen.

I honestly like quite a bit of that Vines 2nd album....don't really know any of the song titles tho since my stereo is way off in another room from where I normally sit and veg-out in my 'free' time...
I find that they went in a LOT of different directions...a lot of different 'feels' for nearly every song, making for a fairly eclectic listen among pop-rock styles there...
There's a sort of dreamy 'beach tune' on there that I like quite a bit... The name? WhoTF knows?

I liked the Vines enough to buy Highly Evolved... it was an ok - ish sorta record, sounds nice when played at high volumes...
Nothing terribly lasting in it though. I think the band is about implode anyways. They've cancelled a ton of tour dates, had a blew with a radio station here in Australia that is refusing to play their music...
All isn't pretty in paradise right now. The Vines camp might just pack up soon... who knows! They might come out of it ok.
I agree that the "big things'" that were supposed to happen weith never never eventuated.

I don't mind that "Down" song by the 1 band I simply can hardly ever stomach at all: Blink - 182

Just got done listening to The Walkmen's "The Rat," which is an amazingly exciting song on one of the most boring, tuneless albums I've ever heard.

Man, that line:
When I used to go out I knew everyone I saw Now I go out alone If I go out at all
never fails to bring a tear to my beer.

Nowt worse than Keane, who recently got to number 1 in the British album charts with their lamentable Radiohead-minus-guitars-and-bass-sung-by-a-fat-boy debut album.
But a big hooray for their song "Bedshaped", which would be an all-time classic if it weren't arranged for a piano-bothering 12-year-old.

I would have to say Fuel For Hatred by Satyricon. The only song I like because it isn't exactly like every other BM song out there. Thank fuck.
