We have a venting thread, which is all well & dandy, but we need one for things that make you go "dude...wtf".

My entire life is wtf, but every now & then I encounter some choice looneys who make me go "dude...wtf".

I've described my crazy-ass apartment building & the freaks who reside within it before, but we now seem to be getting an influx of random bizarros moving in. I think the two sane people in the building finally upped & left.

Anyway, one of the upstairs guys had a party the other night. Most of the building attended & we later discovered that the entire ground level of the building had been broken into that night. Conveniently, the upstairs party guy was nowhere to be seen the next day & a new deadlock has been installed on his door. So everyone thinks he staged the party to leave apartments empty for robbing...

wtf.

Then yesterday I went to collect my laundry out of the common dryer & I found someone had taken it ALL out of the dryer (including my underwear!) & strewn it around the room. There was a note left for me:

'Dear Resident,

You MUST clean out the lint filter before putting clothes in the dryer. Failure to do so may result in fire. You're not ABOVE the rules of the building.

Sincerely, Your Friend'

Thats the note verbatim. Dude, wtf. Fuck the lint filter already. 'Your friend'. I'll show you.

Its the gay guy who lives directly beneath us. He used to be friendly until he found out one of my roomies is a former prostitute & now he thinks anyone associated with us is dirty. One morning he glared at me & said "I hope your kind get diseases & die out". Haha. I'm sure theres some sort of irony in a comment like that coming from a gay man...

I might print out that pic above & afix it to a ruler, so anytime someone does something stupid I can save myself the trouble of saying "dude, wtf" & just hold up my sign instead.

a funny thing happened with my downstairs neighbor today. shaun and were takin off on our bikes (yay, i just got a brand new used bike!!!) and he said hello. i asked (in hindsight, quite ambiguously) "so how's your pipe, get it taken care of?" he had just had a water pipe break and flood his apartment. he did not know what i was referring to, and became very paranoid that i was referencing his tools for zee smoking of one herb called cannabis. he was on the verge of flipping out, but i soothed him, telling him i was not referring to the paraphanalia... sooooo funny. if that dumb ass does not realize that we all KNOW he smokes pot because we smell it in the building all the time, he's totally deluded. poor guy.

So I had a first yesterday. I’ve been working at this job for close to 20 years & I got shut down & actually pulled of a job site!

It all started May 18th when I had words with a carpenter for this other company.
To shorten what happened, he was 6 days past his due date and was trying to come in on my assigned time.
He wanted to go upstairs in the unit I was in & fix things and I had just & I mean only just painted up there.
So I said no & told him copious times “its wet!”
Well he pushed past me on the stairwell I was painting at the time went on up and basically I was told F U.

So I tell my boss he files a grievance & then I'm told put it in writing so I do.

Now yesterday I’m in a different unit and sure enough theses f ups are late again.
3 out of 5 units they’ve been late so far.
So I notice this louvered door is installed in the wrong room (like I said doing this a long time) & I call an inspector hoping to save myself from painting something that’s just going to be ripped out in the end.

He comes, says yup they installed it in the wrong room all right.
Then proceeds to tell me “I know you’re in a pissing contest with _____________ & you’re going to get put in your place real soon”
PARDON? I say. He goes on to tell me I crossed the line even talking to another contractor about issues and from now on any units we enter with late carpentry we must call for permission to start. Yes that’s right even tough we have contracts made out by the very same inspection cell with dates on them.

I’m told I must shut down till fuck nuts finishes. So I load all my gear & believe me it’s a lot.
My boss mean while is fuming mad since they are going to totally fuck all his scheduling not to mention it seems if we don’t meet our due dates the shit flies but I guess for everyone else it’s an ok thing.

So long & short, I’m sent home (translate $$$ loss) these fuck ups are still working though.

Was called late last night & informed I go back in Monday & now they’ve decided their going to call this clown in & finally explain the importance of due dates to him.

Can you say cluster fuck.

Back story………. This guy was the gen contractor at a job I worked at last year. Not only were ALL the sub trades ready to walk off site (averted only by the actions of his secretary) but he’s total creep. Informed his secretary how “great her tits are” in front of everyone.
Dismissed her at jobs end by throwing papers on her desk & saying “while you’re doing the morning paper work you might as well fill out this record of employment for your self”.
Was in general a slimy asshole throughout the job.

Told me “I could make you forget that guy you live with” I said “over your dead body” (don’t think he got my threat)

And the first unit I did this season he’d fucked up & when he arrived on site after the inspectors call that time chose for some bizarre reason to pat me on the head like a dog.

HUGE MISTAKE!!!


So that was my day, I did nothing wrong, I was trying to my job & protect its finished integrity yet I was the one sent home!!!!

That's one VERY fucked up loophole that keeps you from getting paid...especially if now you're simply expected to stand-by at-the-ready waiting not hour or minutes, but DAYS for them to get their shit together by the dates in their fucking contract.

Penalties, baby. Someone's gotta be held to their agreements, I mean UNLESS things get verified and excused IN ADVANCE down the line.

No, screw it being a pissing contest of any sort. It's still about fucking money...and you AND your bosses are getting screwed out of it.
