Lost Prophets? Never heard of 'em, and never heard that song... which is good, because then I'd have it stuck in my head.
Instead, I have Careless Whisper stuck in my head, which is bound to be so much better...

I agree that Sheryl made a big mistake with C’mon C’mon. Although there are a few on there I really like (Weather Channel, Steve McQueen). She does seem to have become an AC artist only these days, but people do what they need to do. The Globe Sessions is still one more masterpiece than I have ever recorded. Plus, she stopped cutting her hair short, and that’s good too.

I didn't know who Lost Prophets were until I stumbled on that video one night channel surfing, and although I thought there might be some cool points involved in never knowing who sings that song, I thought I'd be better equiped to avoid it if I knew a little more about the enemy.

I always liked that tune "I Can't Cry Anymore" by Crow from her debut.
I also really dig the scene from one of her videos where she's swinging on a swing in a skirt with boots.

I'm so glad to hear others saying good things about The Globe Sessions, or Sheryl Crow's nineties work in general. So many times I run into people who have some sort of knee jerk reaction against her, which I don't think she deserves. I really think she was one of the most interesting, consistently interesting, mainstream artists of that decade. I actually liked most of her videos myself, which is a real rarity with me (I really hate videos). But damn the nuthin's have been bad to her ...

ken, I was one of those who had nothing but mild antipathy for Sheryl Crow, as that oft-played Leaving Las Vegas drove me crazy..but then I heard her version of Child of Mine (or something like that) and then I bought Globe Sessions and became a bit of a fan....that is virtually a perfect album..and then there was a show that was at NY Central Park, and she played with Keith Richards, ERic Clapton, Chrissie Hynde, etc, and I was even more impressed!!!!
Oh, for the record, Wham reminds me of the worst of the worst of new wave in the 80s!!!..right up there with that Kajakoogoogoookagoogoo band and Sigue Sigue Sucky and Crock of Seagulls...........!!!!!!!

Sheryl's music got way less cool when she broke up with Eric Clapton and started dating Kid Rock.
Honestly, I loved Globe Sessions - and it's one of those albums that I haven't listened to in a long time, so it's about time to listen again. My Favorite Mistake, The Difficult Kind, There Goes the Neighbourhood, Anything But Down (loooved that one) - fantastic album, IMO.
I really liked her self-titled album as well... but never really listened much to Tuesday Night Music Club.

I have never liked Sheryl Crow, from the time I first heard "All I Wanna Do Is Have Some Fun" all the way up to her hideous cover of "The First Cut Is The Deepest"...
I would elaborate further, but a storm is blowing through and the lightning is getting too close for comfort. Bedsides, the space bar on my keyboard is messed up...

I guess I can post this here w/o getting slammed too much (since we're all confessing how much we like Sheryl Crow) ... Tuesday Night Music Club is a promising debut. What's good on here is really good, but there's some stuff that is just obviously filler and a couple of tracks that are simply clunkers. 3.5 stars. Sheryl Crow. One hell of a sophomore album. Sheryl really makes her Rolling Stones infatuation obvious on this one for the first time, and it suits her well. One of the best mainstream albums in the middle of the decade, and a veritable sampler of everything going on in rock at the time. 4 stars. The Globe Sessions. Sheryl's masterpiece. You Don't Bring Me Anything But Down and My Favorite Mistake are perfect breakup songs, the female counterparts to Bellbottom Blues and Layla. But there's more here than just heartbreak, Sheryl captured the best (and rawest) studio sound of her career here, and matched it with the most inciteful and poignant lyrics she's yet penned. A mature work that never lacks for energy or ambition, it's her best record, and one of the best records of the nineties, regardless of genre. 5 stars. C'mon C'mon. For this we waited three years? ?? All the progress of her last two records went out the window here. Lazy lyrics and banal melodies ... Soak Up the Sun wasn't a bad summer throw-away single, but the entire album melts away like a popsicle in a Las Vegas summer afternoon. There's just no "there" there. 2 stars. That live set that Bowiglou mentioned is damn good as well ... 4 stars for it. Hopefully she'll recover her bearings in time for a mid-career course correction, but given her associations and output since the wonder of The Globe Sessions, I wouldn't count on it.

May I please throw my boss, R.J., into the WHAM! Room today? I scheduled a well-deserved "stress relief" party for my training developers to take place this afternoon. He knew about it, and scheduled a friggin' 3:00 meeting. Grrr!!!

Considered R.J. Whammed!
We have a special salsa muzak version of "I'm Your Man" cued up just for him Howe. Should only take about 20-30 seconds of listening time before his skull implodes.
