I know this board died on its arse but it is the one to put this particular post on:
The match between James Blake and Andre Agassi was something out of this world. The number of momentum changes, classic winners, grit and determination and, in the end, the most marginal of victories just made this match one of the best matches I've ever seen. Together with the Venus/Clijsters-match so far the best of the US Open.

Baghdatis had chances to go 3-0 up in that second set and Federer looked shaky as hell.
He's let the champ off the leash now though.

Nadal is a metronome. I think Andre had to win that first set breaker.
Can Nadal actually make it to the last four on grass this year? That would signal the start of a serious and sustained attack on Fed's pre-eminence.

Mauresmo is the most gender-confused specimen anyone's ever going to see.....gimme Shaparova for eye-candy. Pure eye-candy with a grunt that can be applied to a variety of things.....hmmmm.
Mauresmo comes on and it's 'ERK!'
Or is it just me?

WOO HOO!!! Roger Federer LOST!!! When that man loses, finally, it\'s cause for a celebration!!! And Andy Murray beat him - holy cow to that one! If Murray can keep this up, Brad Gilbert is going to start making more coaching that the top players combined make in prize money. He can truly prove himself as the most genius coach of all time.

Welcome to day 1 of the US Open! Is it so wrong that I'm hoping that Agassi gets knocked out very very early (like, tonight) so that we can move on from the "Andre's last tournament" stories and get back to men playing tennis? Is it also wrong that I've come to the conclusion that the best way to fix the women's game is to just eliminate it all together?
I've decided that tennis live scores is the best thing to happen to the internet since Al Gore. It's more addictive than message boards, and yet it's such a quick fix that it doesn't hurt productivity nearly as much. I love live scoring!

Ping pong's fun as long as you don't play against people who used to play the sport seriously. Them and their goddamned unreturnable serves.
One apartment we lived in in the US (we lived in several) had a racquetball court. That was super fun.

Excuse me, but are Baghdatis and his entourage screaming 'ALLAH!' every time he gets a point?
Scene-setting: 4th set with Agasi up 1-0, right now....
