Someone had to start it...
After beating Chelski to that glorious piece of silverware, the Charity Shield, we start off with a draw against lowly thugs Sheffield United. Great.
In spite of being amongst the pundits picks of teams with the ability to get within 20 points of Chelsea as they win yet another league title, it promises to be another Cup season for the mighty reds. I just want one premiership title, just one.....

Liverpool will win it all. I say that every year. No matter what.

This year it looks like L'pool really has to challenge for the premiership. They cannot fall short as in previous years. Nothing else will do for the Reds- they have promised plenty but now they have to push the point across. I think with all the pre-season spending and team building Rafa now needs to deliver (BTW what's he doing sporting that horrible facehair? He looks like a talking vagina!)
ManU and Chelsea look as always impressive.

Hey maarts, long time no see. We have a good chance this year to keep up with the Chelsea's & ManUs (although the latter has had their worst start since '92). I'm actually hoping that this is the year to break the top 4 monotomy.

He looks like a talking vagina!I like goatees as a rule (guess I'd have to say that) but on Rafa it's just wrong. It's like he's gone from company accounts director to George Michael's uglier cousin in one fell swoop.

Hi Hollow! I hope so too, but it seems it'll depend on which side the referee is on.
Penalty, my ass......
Martin Jol already tipped to be sacked? I had my money on Sir Alex to be the first manager to go....

I had my money on Sir Alex to be the first manager to go.... Even my Dad agreed with me on that penalty. I feel bad for Martin Jol. He's a heck of a manager who's trying his best with a much improved squad. With their young midfield set, they could be (will be) a force. Instant gratification seems to rule football these days & I hate it. Look at the Man Us cheseas, arsenals....they all have kept the manager & most of the squad & routinely finish in the top 5. I guess patience is a virtue that football lost long ago..... c ya around.

Jol has mostly been involved with mid table teams as a pllayer and a coach and my guess is that Tottenham's ambitions are reaching for the sky; if they can splash out on players they also can do that on a 'winning' coach. Jol has a happy-go-lucky mentality but he's a hard taskmaster. I don't know where the criticism came from (he had some issues with leaving Keane on the bench last season) but after only 3 rounds?
Let's see what Spurs do to ManU this weekend.
