How awesome is this (I know Doll will feel the awesomeness) today was the FINAL day of my debt-ridden life, for the time being I am free of evil bank fees & cash advance fees & purchase fees etc. To celebrate I am going against everything my financial advisor sister ever told me, and blowing the first paycheck of my debt-free life on SHOES. Oh yes. Tomorrow, 10am, I'm meeting my best girlfriends & my best gayfriends at the biggest shoe emporium in the city & I have a brand new shiny Virgin credit card, not used yet, just screaming out for me to buy loads & loads of pretty stilettos. I'm having heart palpitations already. Rent? Who needs to pay rent? Shoes dammit.

Hmmm... these are the shoes I wear most often! I love my comfy sneakers more than anything. Though I did buy five pairs of girly strappy sandals this weekend, all of which I adore. It all depends on the mood, is all. And I really can't wear stilettos - I'm an enormous klutz and would probably fracture both ankles. Kitten heels were a lifesaver for me.

Most comfy shoes I've ever owned. I need a new pair though. I dig those. Perhaps I should switch from Adidas, and try some Converse....I've been sporting Adidas for awhile now though... I also sport these (every good rock lover should have some blue suede shoes)

My present spring/fall transition wear. Though my heels are wood & a tad higher & the leather is a lighter warmer reddish tan. Saddle soaped, worn in & comfortable as hell. Winter…….. hikers. Summer……… mostly bamboo thongs. Work………… steel toes. Party……….. the requisite stilettos.

My old lady hates heels, and would take a bullet before she'd put on pointy shoes. That said, she's got a lot of fucking shoes, and all sorts big clunky things from her fishnet/I hang out with tons of gay guys days. And a couple pairs of Chucks she's had since high school, those things are beat to hell. I've got a lot of shoes, too. These are my pride and joys, but mine are with a red/grey color scheme, and I only wear them for running: adiStar Control You get an incredibly smooth, even ride due to a new dynamic cushioning element that slows impact horizontally, drastically reduces the rate of overpronation, and reduces the amount of jarring to your lower legs and knees.
Weight for Men's size 9: 13.4 oz. (no other weights available) Ground Control System™ adapts to the landing surface to slow the foot's rate of pronation Breathable and quick drying open mesh upper with 360-degree reflectivity; Molded OrthoLite antimicrobial moisture-wicking sockliner adiPRENE® + for resilient forefoot cushioning 3-D TORSION® provides adaptable midfoot support QuickStrike for lightweight durability and flexibility ImportedOh yeah. Also have some New Balances in black and grey and blue and grey, have some green and grey Saucony's, have a couple pair of old running shoes as "outside shoes," have this awesome pair of brown shoes I got at American Eagle, have the token black dress shoes, have four different pairs of flip-flops, some old Doc Marten's, and a pair of Crocs, which are so ugly but easily the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. My mom's taking me shoe shopping at the boardwalk in Shreveport this weekend...stay tuned, but I may just end up getting a few pairs of new shorts.

Most comfy shoes I've ever owned. I need a new pair though. I've got this exact pair too. I fucking love my Chucks... have One Stars in both black and navy, and All Stars (the ones I posted before) in black, navy, orange and red. Best shoes ever. Though my Reef sneakers have proven far more comfy for long distance walking... they're my record shopping shoes.

I always just assumed that I'd die if I tried to wear stiletto heels, but last year I tried on a really great pair of stiletto-heeled boots on a whim and discovered, much to my surprise, that they were pretty comfortable and not at all difficult to walk in (I have a pair of relatively flat, super-comfy dansko sandals that I'm always turning my ankle in, and I've never once turned my ankle in my stiletto boots). Unfortunately I wore them so much - walked halfway across Berlin in them - that I wore down the heels to such an extent that now they're practically just a pair of nails. If I walk on them on linoleum surfaces, the nails slip and slide across the floor and I nearly kill myself. I really gotta get 'em repaired, cause they're amazing.
Anyway the point of this rambling post is that, if you haven't actually tried stiletto heels and you're just assuming you can't manage them - TRY!!! At least some of them are really surprisingly easy to manage. Not to mention fabulous looking.
All that said, I'm not much of a shoe-buyer. My entire shoe collection consists of:
running sneakers knee-high burgundy boots stiletto-heel black ankle boots normal black ankle boots black clogs black dansko sandals one formal pair of black shoes for conference presentations and giving talks
and that's it.
Not much of a bag person (haha) either. I've really only got two bags - one red and gold patterned bag I bought in Chinatown, and one totally cheapo non-distinct black shoulder bag I bought at a Ross outlet store for like $5. I'd rather buy books. I'm such an unfashionable nerd....
Cheers, M

Layla - for gawd sake post us some pictures of your sparkly stillettoed purchases! This board is tragic. I've never seen such a rogues gallery of footwear ugliness.
