I remeber that event, Doc. Somebody taped it. Yikes! I'd still try it, though. I'd go up in the space shuttle, too! Stragest thing I've done that way was to go up thousands of feet in an ultra-light. That was awesome!

oh yes, it sounded dreadul and tragic, the way it happened... Doc ... Not one of those pictures are mine ... I've always worked in transparencies (kodachrome) (must have about 6 or 7 thousands of those catalogued) and the scanner I had before it clunked out wasn't doing a good job at handling those ... aaah! THAT's what you meant...that you've got loads of slides you can't scan...oops.

I've posted this somewhere before, I'm sure. This is in an open ultralight a few thousand feet over Lake Parksville in Tennessee. That's my foot in the lower left, next to the dam. What a thrill that was! The lake is the terminus of the Ocoee River, which has some of the finest Class 3 rapids on the continent. I rafted them once! I'll never forget this flight. I still have hopes of flying similar craft all around!

i lo-o-oved the santa cruz boardwalk. oh like 28 years ago. the roller coaster's still there?
they also did some circus acts there too...like this huge moving circular treadmill that a guy walked, ran and balanced himself on, over the water.
~
so you finally got back to blighty, eh daisy?
great pictures AND a wonderful website.
