strat, to be honest ive always been drawn to odd or simple composition, so to me, its just so simplistic and leaves a lot open...like what is she doing? what's she looking for? sometimes i dont need too much going on to get my interest. but i know not everyone digs that... like i love this pic: and this one: annnnd: all alex webb, btw, shooting in haiti. looove him.

Well, I can see the futility or unrealness of the spark plug ads juxtaposed against the people in despair...

i'm not going...sometimes, for me as an artist, i want something pretty. now. my idea of pretty is a bit off, but people are drawn to aesthetics first and foremost for art.
there's a project i wanted to start here, of shooting rodeos and such, but i haven't had much time. i just think it'd be really interesting to go into that...it's so easy to go into sterotypes there. and i dont want to.

Aw, what's not sturdy about going thousands of feet up in the air in a little basket suspended by ropes from a gas bag of sewn together material with a fire under it? Heh... I'd go up in one anyway.

The cow seems a bit hermaphroditic.
Is this something you partake in occasionally, Phil?

The cow seems a bit hermaphroditic.
It's a Huckin' Flying Cow ... Of course it will look a little wacked out ... ;D ;D
When the first hot air balloon Québec festival started near montréal in the early 80's, I managed to get a pass to take pictures during the event so I got to know a few pilots ... I did this the first 3 years and I was lucky enough to catch a few rides here and there.
It's been a while ...
I really got to get a new scanner !

so other than those 3 copyrighted photos, the rest are yours....and this result is from your scanner?
shit, i'd say your scanner is still doing pretty darned OK...nice stuff.
to add, i always thought i'd want to go for a balloon ride UNTIL....sometime last year, i think in vancouver there was a horrible-sounding tragedy where a basket caught fire as the thing was ascending....all family members, some made it some didn't.
but right now that image imprinted on my brain has me thinkin' 'um, heck no...sorry'

Doc ... Not one of those pictures are mine ...
I've always worked in transparencies (kodachrome) (must have about 6 or 7 thousands of those catalogued) and the scanner I had before it clunked out wasn't doing a good job at handling those ...
