Oh, I forgot Blondie's drummer. That dude was amazing. I think he also played with the Eurythmics later on.

Moon wasn't a drummer, he was a monster. I mean that in the best possible sense but as much as I love Moonie I voted for Bonham. Bonzo is Keith Richards of Modern drumming.

I have to say that after viewing How the West Was Won I think I shoulda picked Bonham rather than Ward. Oh well, too late now.
But what I've really been wondering is how the hell I could have forgotten Mitch Mitchell.

drumming is where my heart is...I try to play guitar, my my natural fit is behind the kit. Having said that, three of my favorites drummers didn't make the poll; those being Mitch Mitchell, Dave Grohl, and Mick Avory.
For evidence to back my claim, I submit: 1. any live Hendrix -- especially w/ Billy Cox on bass as IMO the Cox/Mitchell line up was best. 2. In Utero 3. Arthur: Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire (notable songs include Mr. Churchill Says, She's Bought A Hat Like Princess Marina, and Brain Washed)

I'm not a drummer by any stretch of the imagination, but here goes my list:
1. Bonham 2. Keith Moon 3. Bill Bruford 4. Ginger Baker 5. Charlie Watts
Never could get past Geddy Lee's voice to appreciate Rush, sorry. I can appreciate Peart's technical ability, but he leaves me cold.
I like Matt Cameron, Dave Grohl and Jack Irons too. In fact I heartily recommend that Grohl go back to playing drums fulltime and stop fighting foos.
