Heehee... that was pretty funny.
But seriously, When the Children Cry is WAAAAAAAAAAY worse than Every Rose Has Its Thorn (though I admit the latter is heavily influenced by nostalgia, thanks to cute Jerry in the eighth grade, who looked just like River Phoenix and asked me to dance to this song at a birthday party, only to make out with the birthday girl at the end of the night and break my heart into a million pieces. Thanks Jerry.)
And Faster Pussycat definitely does NOT belong on a hair band list - but since Riley mentioned them, I couldn't help but express my opinion on their rawkingness.

I own that book too... I couldn't help it, when I saw it in a used store one day. Some of it made my jaw drop but yeah, it gets pretty boring near the end.
Though I did lend it to my boss at the time, who was the raddest boss in the whole world, and then spent several hours discussing the details. I miss working for her.

One of my friends in high school gave a blowjob to someone in Trixter. I can't remember who.
Really.
On that note...I have to go teach.

Anybody who'd want to give ANY sexual favor to guys who look like THAT really should have her head examined ...

If that blonde chick on the right had bigger boobs, she'd be really hot.

Final Countdown blows, but that doesn't mean I don't love to sing that little synthesizer part. dododo do... dodo do do doI actually hate that part. The most annoying part of the song if you ask me. But I must admit, the follow-up single "Rock The Night" wasn't half bad.

Luke's avatar is so cool. Wish I'd thought of it first... btw, am I the only one who confused Nikki Sixx with Tommy Lee back in the spandex/heavy make-up day? There's a couple of pics in the Shout At The Devil booklet where it's anyone's guess who's who.

Wow... is there really a most annoying part of that song? Isn't the whole the most annoying part? **** Though totally unrelated, this got me to thinking about how much I like to sing Eye of the Tiger and box by myself in my dining room... which made me look up Survivor on Amazon for fun. Do you know that their 'Eye of the Tiger' album's average customer review is FIVE STARS?!?!? This has nothing to do with anything, but I'm sort of appalled. I'm just sayin'.

I just checked it out. The only reason it's got five stars is because there are only 24 reviews, and all of them from die-hard fans who voted it for nostalgic reasons. Frankly, I preferred 'Burning Heart'... even if it was a re-hash of 'Eye of The Tiger'. At least it wasn't played out as much.

And Night Ranger were probably the worst of the bunch ... I swear if I hear Sister Christian again, I'm gonna hurt somebody. God I hate that song. They were SO much more than Sister Christian!!!!! You just can't dismiss Rock in America and Don't Tell Me You Love Me ... or the cheesiness of Goodbye and Sentimental Street. Okay really ... give me a pass ... Jack Blades was the focus of all my teenage love ... until I outgrew him ... not as in I matured, but in I got 5 inches taller than him. Oh, and I saw them in concert too ... twice. I really am that cool.

If I recall correctly, Night Ranger never made it big outside the US. The only reason I know of them is because I used to listen to Casey Kasem's American top 40 countdown. I hated 'Sister Christian'. I remember every time it came on I couldn't wait for it to be over. 'Sentimental Street' was better. Not great, just better.

They had a "live from Japan" album - one of two I don't own. So they either did well there, or wanted me to believe they did. BTW - they hated Sister Christian too.

Everything 'hair' was big in Japan. I think it still is.
