Ok, so there's not enough room on the damn form to get the Headstones, Hopping Penguins, Huevos Rancheros, Hard Rock Miners, Hot Hot Heat or (the fictional) Hard Core Logo in, so if you want to vote for one of them, you'll have to write 'em in.
*Note: Not the post-Human League outfit from the UK but rather the seminal Montréal band with future members of Men Without Hats and Rational Youth.

I’m, of course, picking Haywire because Joe Kilbride’s brother was the drummer.

Headstones get my vote! Hugh Dillon is just such a dick, and Nickels for Your Nightmares is one of my favourite Canadian albums ever.

Bollocks! I voted for Heaven 17 without reading the footnotes. Still got me a copy of Penthouse & Pavement and The Luxury Gap on old TDK C90 tapes somewhere...

Somehow, I can't envision this poll getting a whole lot of votes...
I vote Hayden.

Somehow, I can't envision this poll getting a whole lot of votes... Yes and that really puzzles me. BTW, Hayden’s great and all but he’s not a band.

No Harem Scarem and Haze & Shuffle?
Isn't The Hidden Cameras a Canadian band also? I'd vote for them.
I won't mention Heart. Some wounds are too deep I guess....

Maarts, I must admit I'm not familiar with Haze & Shuffle. Just popped over to AMG but what they have on them is not terribly enlightening.... Though they don't appear to have been active for long...
Hidden Cameras are Canadian. Mississauga goddamn!
Heart and their draft-dodging manager were based out of Vancouver for several years at the beginning of their career (won a Juno award too, I believe) but they are Americans.

I voted for The Hardship Post. Newfoundland transplanted to Halifax, signed to Subpop, with some of the best Elvis Costello songs ever written by anyone other than Elvis Costello.

I voted for the Hardship Post based on the one song I heard through an old friend of mine way back when ('95 or '96? Were they around then) and another on a mix from Rileydog. Never heard of the others.

With the exception of Hot Hot Heat (who aren't even in the poll), I haven't heard of any of these bands.

I'm gonna throw a fit if this gets more votes than my Scottish band poll.

I think it does already, doesn't it, if you count the write ins.

Damnit, everyone who hasn't voted yet in the "Favorite Men In Kilts" thread need to get off their lazy asses and do so now! I will not suffer the humiliation of losing out to this poll!
Incidentally, the Hidden Cameras (I have one of their albums, though I'm afraid I haven't listened to it a whole lot) came to my mind too when I saw this poll, but in my magnanimity I decided to spare Drum. A magnanimity he failed to display in the polls started by other people, I must add.

Surrounded by the mound of paper I laughingly refer to as my "desk", I take the time to write these things – for your entertainment and edification I might add – and this is the thanks I get. Harrumph, I say, harrumph!
