I'm certain I'm the only who will vote for Pisces Iscariot. Gish comes in a close 2nd.

For me, that is. I know it's obvious that the battle here is between SD and MCATIS.

Not so fast R-dog. I like prog. MCIS.

I like prog too, but I like prog albums with like 8-10 songs with average running times of 7 minutes.
I'm not big on albums with 2 discs and 400 prog songs with an average running time of 4 minutes.
Melon Collie & The Missing Track Editor. One disc too long. Would have been perfect otherwise. One day I'll edit it back myself to what it should have looked like. Not today, but I will.

I agree with Riley's 'missing editor' comment but gotta support JLLM on this one.
I like the White Album, too.

A year ago, I'd have gone with MCIS. But I've gotten back into SD in the past year, and the whole Soma/Geek U.S.A./Mayonaise segue is the finest moment in the history of music, if not the universe.

And Melon, you can "yeah right" all you want, but Machina is a helluva lot better album than Adore.

If Siamese Dream is the best album of the 90's, how can it not be the best the Pumpkins ever did?

Luke - "Geek USA" can't be a part of the finest-three-consecutive-songs in the universe. It's a good song, but it ain't that good. In Sector 4 of the Delta Quandrant they tend to say it's positively overrated and even a little bit tuneless in places.
Adore is the 4th greatest goth album of all time. I've proved this scientifically, using candles, patchouli oil, and covert surveillance of a live-action game of Vampire:The Masquerade. It'll all come to light when I publish my scientific paper, Luke's wrong every time he opens his mouth about Adore.
Yeah, MCIS is a great 80-minute album - one of the greatest - with added flab. I don't mind extra stuff that I might skip, when it comes to double albums. I did the same consolidation excercise with MCIS that I did with the Illusions, Kid A/Amnesiac... and I'll do the same with Mesmerize/Hypnotise, which contains some right turkeys.

While we're here, trying to pretend Billy's not at all an embarrassing washed-up slaphead these days, what's your favourite SP song then folks?
1. The Areoplane Flies High 2. Soma 3. Thru The Eyes of Ruby 4. For Martha 5. Mayonaise 6. Glass & The Ghost Machine 7. I Am One 8. Porcelina of the Vast Oceans 9. To Forgive 10= Blew Away 10= Blank Page
Though this wouldn't make a good mix, looking at it, since it's too uniform in tempo and style, whereas the Pumpkins were strong in their variety. A mix would need some short, faster stuff like "Quiet" and "Jelly Belly" and some 'happier' additons like "Today"

Jesus, I think the ferocity of Geek U.S.A. perfectly compliments the more somber moments in Soma and Mayo.
Here's my list:
10. 1979 9. Age of Innocence 8. Bodies 7. Muzzle 6. I Am One 5. Thru the Eyes of Ruby 4. Silverfuck 3. Mayonaise 2. Porcelina 1. Soma
That...doesn't feel right. At all. Soma's not even at a comfy #1. Think this list is near impossible for me.
And goddamnit, I just picked up that new Darkness yesterday, and planned on giving it a spin in my car, but now it looks like I'm going to be sifting through my Pumpkins albums again for a long time to come.

I picked Mellon Collie. It has too much emotional resonance with me. It was also my first Pumpkins album. And while I agree that its too damn long, as long as the following songs are skipped (Take Me Down on disc 1, and the last five songs on disc 2) - which I always do - this emerges as the best Pumpkins album.

I have cast my vote. Bringin SD to a TIE w/MCIS ~ ! p.s. I'll have to think on my "Top 10" pumpkin songs. . . p.p.s. Might add, that it is very refreshing to witness JLLM back in old-school form. Bravo, mate . . . (& keep it up, you are fucking hilarious;)

Listening to MCIS in the car, and almost want to change my vote. Corgan's "Zero" snarl put me right back in the eighth grade.
