On second thought ... Abba was in all appearances an all-female unit so they do indeed qualify !!

Gotta get behind achn2b with a second: the Pretenders, hands down.
Haven't seen Heart mentioned yet. Too high in the "cheeze factor"? But their first few records were good - they were rockers then. Nobody says Big Brother & the Holding Co.? Jefferson Airplane? (Not that I'd vote for JA.)

I thought I'd mentioned the Airplane earlier in my little list ... but I should've put Heart in there as well. Barracuda rocked! as did a bunch of their early stuff.
Too bad 'bout the eighties, though.
And if you're talking about bands that are pretty much exclusively female singers, then the Pretenders have to take the title. Chrissie is an icon.

I thought I'd mentioned the Airplane earlier in my little list. You did; I just missed it, Ken. But what about BB&H Co.?

Siousxsie & the Banshees?
Actually, I don't rate them at all, but if we're mentioning Abba...
Arcade Fire (shared duties, I know)
Generally female fronted bands are completely inferior. I have no idea why this is. But none of my top 50 bands would have a female singer, unless we're talking shared vocals at most.

Does that mean you've finally sold all your Bananarama records?

Yep. Though I kept the posters up on the wall.
How was BSS?

Unbelievable. It's actually inspired me to write a proper review, which with any luck I'll have up at CanCon later.

Did they swap places and put the audience on stage, so there'd be room for the band?
And how many guitarists played the riff from Power Out this time?
Okay, I'll check out the review.

At the height of the evening I counted 16 of them on stage. It's hard to sya for sure because Feist is always running all over the place.

Thirded. I hate Sleater-Kinney and Siouxsie & the Banshees have dated so badly I find them completely irrelevant.

Mr. T - not sure if you can amend the survey, but it appears Metric are presently tied with SK for the lead at 3 votes.
