I saw a band play at my university years ago, called the Standard Deviations.
I was doing a stats class at the time, so I was a total SD groupie for all of 10 minutes.
There aren't enough statistic-themed bands around, dammit. If I were a frontman, my band would be:
Chi Square & the Two-Way Manova.
Sounds like a hot jazz band, doesn't it. Great.

I would have no hesitation in calling my band Renzulli's Triad... just cause it was written in a job application for a teaching job i once went for...
"must have a knowledge of working educational theory, for example, Renzulli's Triad...etc"
I recoiled and thought - what in fuck's name is renzulli's triad???!!! It sounds like a mafia gang...

Renzulli's Triad ... would it be a three-piece? or would you rather explain "We're called Renzulli's Triad, but there are five of us" to curious reporters? I always like the name "Tweed Flamingoes" for some reason. We'd play angular, jangly, witty and catchy guitar-based pop/rock. We'd be like early R.E.M., Cheap Trick c. Heaven Tonight, Gang of Four, and all that indie stuff that Riley loves that I haven't heard (but would probably love as well) ... only cooler.

That's classic! I like The Desert Turtles, too. Nobody expects there to be turtles here in the desert, but there are.
