Today I decided to get another dog. A puppy. Specifically a female toy poodle. A friend and his partner have two male toy poodles and I fell in love with them. Never thought I'd get a small dog.
Theres a local breeder who just had a litter of 4 females and one male. My friends (who are buying the dog for me...$400 bucks) and I will visit the breeder this weekend so I can pick one of the females and put down a deposit.
The litter is 4 weeks old. Another 4 weeks to go until my new poodle pup can come home with me.
Toodles the poodle is the name I've picked.
It'll be fun training a new pup.

The new litter are black (my friends two poodles are from the same breeder, also black.) They look exactly like this pic...

While I don't much care for Poodles myself, I can't dislike any individual dog, esp. not a puppy. That little black dude is just too cute ... congratulations! There's nothing like having the pitter-patter of little feet in the house.
Why I remember when my Mastiff was just a tiny little girl ... only ten pounds at eight weeks ...
I want another puppy!

She (Toodles) will be my first pure-bred. Although Logi (my first doggie, a deceased rotty-shepard mix) will forever hold a place in my soul.

Aww, thats a cute little puppy I miss my dogs, they're my favourite creatures in the entire world. They're all at the folks' place & I admit I go back home to see them more than I do to visit my parents & sisters. One of our dogs, Rico, we got when my mother was going through a really bad depression & that dog saw her through it like nothing else. She told me years later he would just sit by her when he sensed she was feeling particularly sad & even to this day they have this very deep bond, stronger than any I've ever seen. Rico ADORES my mother & I think its because of her depression. Dogs are fucking awesome. Congrats on your new one, Pat. Do you have any other dogs at home right now?

Love your current signature quote, Pat! Mom sent it to me in an "walking on eggshells" e-mail. Hint I suppose...

Just got in from the poodle breeders, The Light Family, and picked out a solid black female poodle. She is what is called a "tea-cup" poodle. Ended up being 800 smackers. My friend and his partner shelled out 1/2 as the deposit. Vewy interesting last name of the breeders... They (the pups) are 6 weeks old and Toodles will be able to come home with me on May 13th. I'm sooooo excited! She's the sweetest one from the pups available. She will be about 1/2 to 3/4 the size of a toy. Thats why she's so expensive, being a tea-cup. Oh the joy and fun I'll have!

7 more days until Toodles the poodle can come home! Ordered a Bonsai tree/plant for me mummy for Mom's day. I hope she likes it. While I visited last year in Boston I noticed a distinct lack of living plants in the home. Hope she likes it...her hubby is into Kwan Tai...hope it grows in their home.

I like bonsais. I didn't know where else to post this, so I picked here. The other day my friend was approached by a bum who was carrying a kitten. He said "listen man, if you give me $5 I'll give you this kitten". My friend was like "heres a dollar, I don't want a kitten, but thanks". Then the bum says "I need $5 for food. if not, I'll kill the cat & eat it instead". My mate was like "wtf", but he figured this guy wasn't your regular street crazy & that he probably would eat the cat, so he gave him $5, took the cat & now has a new pet. He christened the kitten 'Fiver' in honour of his donation to the bum.
