The Motley Crue interview in the 5-19 issue of Rolling Stone is really interesting. One of the more enjoyable stories about rock bands...then and now stories. Abbreviated versions.

Am glancing thru the latest issue of "Entertainment Weekly." The one with two of the most beautiful people in the world on the cover...Brad and Angelina. Might actually have to break down and go see them in the theater in whats sure to be the smash hit "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."

Yeah....SEVEN (7) weeks now without a smoke!!! Going on 10 lbs. heavier though. My 40th is a week from this Saturday. Intend to spend the day going from cinema to cinema watching all the recent releases.
Am also buying myself a bicycle. A really cool one. Rode bikes often throughout my life (by choice growing and when I carried a paper-route, not by choice at 25 workin' for F.W. Woolworths.) Bicycling is probably one of the best forms of exorcise a person can do for him or herself.
Should help with the x-tra 10 pounds. Gosh. 180 something pounds.

Yeah I want to see Mr. & Mrs. Smith too. The trailers look great. Plus admittedly there is the “sparks” curiosity factor.

This months edition of Smithsonian arrived. Really great pic's of Egyptian "digs" no pun intended. What a shame that the exhibition is only going to L.A. County Museum of art, Museum of art in Ft. Lauderdale, Field Museum of natural history in Chicago and Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. Gosh darn it. Could have come to Houston or Dallas. That would be as cool as going to 6 Fags Over Texas...hardy-har-har. Seriously, I've always found the tombs of the pharies...or is that pharaohs? fascinating. Archeological stuff.

You must have flunked Agriculture class. A boar is an uncastrated pig or a wild male hog. A sow is a FEMALE pig. BTW, thanks for losing that messed-up Spiderman avatar.

I stand corrected JAC...I read the most interesting chapter yet in "Taming Chaos." Had to do with Moses and The 10 Commandments and what the Isrealites did while Moses was at the world's first "summit." Poor Aaron. The question I have here though is why Aaron was not punished as severly as those that participated in the making of the false idol. As his involvement was as great as that of any of the others. The fact that he was Moses's brother? Did that play a role?
More to ponder.
Very interesting. When the names of Yunos and Yumbros were mentioned I started laughing. For some reason those names made me have a laugh attack. Chesed on the Tree Of Life has always been a favorite for me in characteristics as Chesed denotes "loving-kindness."
Perhaps one day we all will be enjoy sharing the loving-kindness with one another.
Light be with you JAC,
Pat.

It was not punishment that was meted out to the disobedient Israelites so much as it was judgement. And that judgement was based upon which ones were "for the LORD" and which ones were not. All of the people were involved in the golden calf fiasco, so if this judgement were based entirely upon involvement with the cast idol ALL of the people would have been slain. But in Exodus 32:26 we find Moses saying "Whoever is for the LORD, come to me" and the Levites (of whom Aaaron was counted in their number) rallied to him. Because of this commitment to the LORD they were excluded from the judgement/execution (indeed, they were used as instruments of that judgement). So basically these people were not "punished" so much for demanding and worshipping an idol as for being set in their hearts against the LORD who had delivered them from Egypt and provided for them in the Exodus. I hesitate to suggest that Aaron was spared because he was only doing what the people wanted him to do, because that is not a valid excuse...but the fact remains that it was NOT Aaron's idea to "make a god" for them. The people demanded it of him and he complied. Light is with me, thank you. Grace and mercy through Christ Jesus be with you, Pat.

Did the levites invent levi blue jeans? If so I'm forever in their debt.

I only really read motoring magazines... the two major ones here down under are Wheels and Motor. Both are a good, entertaining read, with fantastic car comparisons, drive impressions and technical info. Good reads.
