Tired, eh? Funny how her Confessions Tour is sold-out and COADF has sold 7 million copies worldwide. That's really weird. Not to mention the fact that "Hung Up" and "Sorry" went to the top of the charts in many countries. Maybe she's not as popular in the USA, but if you look at our charts, it's no surprise.

BTW, got the new live album... and the versions of "I Love New York" and "Mother and Father" are way better than the official releases. She sings her ass off during "Mother and Father" and "I Love New York" sounds how Madonna would sound if she would release a rock album... exquisite shit.

Yes tired and I don't just mean tired sales (her sales are nothing in comparison to her heyday). And anyone who has been around for 20 years will always do better on tour than on the charts, that's a given. I mean she is tired - TO ME - musically. I haven't heard anything that made me wanna groove from her since Music. And even that was limited.

Is that right? First, name an artist who has album sales that are better than those of their heyday. Very few, if any. Not only that, Madonna's heyday ended with "True Blue," which was released in the mid-eighties. The album "Like A Prayer" was matched by the sales of both "Ray of Light" and "Music"... which had better sales than "Erotica" and "Bedtime Stories." Might I mention, just because someone is not as popular as they used to be in the States doesn't mean they're less popular around the world. And yes, she's still VERY popular around the world.

LOL! I didn't say her sales SHOULD be better than her heydey - otherwise this would be her heydey. She's old, repetitive and now an Englishwoman. LOL! And of course she is popular overseas - they also love Natasha Bedingfield.

I bought the new live album/doco release of Madge's. There was one copy left in the store & I had to fight a gay dude & some 15 year old girl to get it. You know I won. All I'll say is there were tears & they walked away limping.
The live CD is meh, the doco is alright.

The documentary is cool... but I relate to the Kabbalah thing, and I'm fascinated with the idea that such a famous celebrity is trying to become a better person. She's an icon, and the fact that she's questioning it all brings a smile to my face. It's why I became a fan in the first place (considering I didn't really care for her until Ray of Light).
The live CD was great in spots, but most of it works better performed. Mother and Father, Imagine, Like A Prayer, Nobody Knows Me, and Holiday rock. I also love the rock version of I Love New York... it's brattier.

I'll pretty much buy anything she puts out these days as a rule, but I always veer back to playing the older stuff. They go better with cocktails. La Isla Bonita + tequila/vodka/fruit punch = heaven.

Vogue = martini (stirred, not shaken)
Material Girl = Raspberry Bellini
Beautiful Stranger = cosmopolitan
Amazing = White Sangria
Erotica = Singapore Sling
...Matching Madonna songs to cocktails? I've reached & far surpassed all my previous levels of gayness.

Alas, again no Texas shows. I hear M has a resentment towards Texas ever since the Houston newspaper dissed her "Blonde Ambition" tour. Thats the real problem, not 'cause it's the home state of the President.
