fredrum,
dude, that sounds pretty cool! kinda reminds me of when my friends and i jam (which isn't as often as i'd like). anywho, you got some nice licks on the guitar i particularly like the jammin' around the 4:30 mark.

wow....you managed to pick out the two places where i snuck in a lead....... all of that was completely off the top of our heads....its a little strange how much it sounds like an actual song in some places. hell of a lot of fun though.

Nice groove, fred! Very Sabbathesque. It does run a bit long, though, doesn't it! I liked your work in it, if I picked it out correctly. I wanted to get a closer look at your rig, but when I clicked, it didn't enlarge, but took me to strange places instead. I guess I just don't get the myspace thing. Yours is orange? The one next to it is maybe a Music Man head and a Marshal cabinet??

mine is an orange rockerverb 100 w/4x12 and 2x12 cabs, quite a recent addition actually, i didnt have it at the time of the recording. but its easily the most versatile, intuitive head ive ever played. well worth the money (i had to get something out of working 65 hours a week at two jobs, granted, one of them is at a music store where im the guitar tech/fixit wizard....a job ill soon be assuming full time....two jobs is too much.......and im gonna stick with the one i like...pays more too....but not as many benefits)
what i was playing through at the time was a musc man hd-130 w/ a 1960 slant cab w/g1275s and a laney aor 100 w/4x12, which is kind of like a hot rodded jcm 800. most of the tone came from the music man....that things a beast.....its one of the wierd ones with a solid state preamp.....sounds amazing, lots of el-34 crunch.
my job at the music store has afforded me the opportunity to amass a reasonably decent guitar collection...(the latest of which is a major project, but well worth the effort-a 67 gibson sg junior, prety much just the neck and body, but no major flaws or repairs to the body...sadly covered in three different colors of spraypaint when i got it, after 10 hours of work it cleaned up nice. now i get to try my hand at a refin)
im a gear junkie, but in my mind its much better than wasting all my money on drugs and video games.

yeah.....NUThin' wrong with either jam! Brought to my mind in vein of some good stoner rock of sorts. Makes me want to throw on some early Orange Goblin or stretch out a bit with Explosions In The Sky.
More power (& wattage!) to ya Fredrum!

its actually one long jam.....but it was so long we had to split it in two and lower the bitrate to get it on myspace.
and yeah....very stoner rock like. i like that.

fredrum,
I've been pimpin' Comets On Fire around here lately - they're a Cali band on SubPop - anyway, they're newest album 'Avatar' is pretty sweet and based on your jam, I really think you'd like the first song on the album. It's called "Dogwood Rust" and clocks in right at Seven minutes and forty eight seconds. There's a lot going on in that song, it's pretty fucking sweet.
