this is a prophecy board. if you have something to prophetic to say, or can quote somebody saying something prophetic, put it here. (i know i know, this board will die before it reaches 2 days old...how sad...hopefully one of you will give me something really good before it dies, though.)

Thigh-high Converse All-Stars will be very "in" next year. (But only little Japanese children and naughty karate students will have the thighs to carry it off.)

i wish the death of globalization would happen soon. at least as far as corporate rule is concerned.

that won't happen. corporate rule is the norm. and has been for at least 500 years. the Age of Reason has entrenched it.

i propose we begin an age of irrationality and chaos.....a chaos so trenchant that no corporation could ever dig its steel talons deep enough into the souls of men to reach it without first melting and being absorbed into it.

no. chaos is overrated. we just need common sense. memory of past trends. the courage to make ethical decisions. imagination.

what does the term "neo-nabist" refer to anyhow?

i'll get behind that, rit. as for neo-nabism, it's sort of an art movement. i came across it when i was exploring info on the Sitiuationists Intenationale a few years ago, and i thought they were fascinating. i just went looking for a good website to explain it and it was a bit of a chore, but i finally found this, and it's pretty damn good: www.yuricareport.com/Art%20Essays/What%20is%20Neo-Nabism.htm

intruiging.
"To the Nabis a picture had merit only when it possessed style and style meant that the painting was impressed with the artist’s personality and character"
Blake would have been proud.

I guess that rules out "paint-by-numbers" art works ...

That's not even quasi-nabist.
