You know, it's been way too long since we did any lists around here. So I hope at least a few will put a list together. For this project I chose 25. Hope that's a good number for this. Even if there is only a small handful of people still around here I'd still really like to see a list or two besides my own. So I figure what the hay. Here's mine and since I didn't listen to as many albums as I should've this past decade it only consists of 16 artists. Oh well. Feel free to critique it in any way. FWIW, here it is:
Best Albums of the 00s
1. Absolution - Muse 2. Kid A - Radiohead 3. In Rainbows - Radiohead 4. A Rush Of Blood To the Head - Coldplay 5. Z - My Morning Jacket 6. All That You Can't Leave Behind - U2 7. Turn On the Bright Lights - Interpol 8. Amnesiac - Radiohead 9. A Ghost Is Born - Wilco 10. Wincing the Night Away - The Shins 11. Is This It - The Strokes 12. Funeral - Arcade Fire 13. Okonokos - My Morning Jacket 14. Chutes Too Narrow - The Shins 15. Oh, Inverted World - The Shins 16. Origin Of Symmetry - Muse 17. Till the Sun Turns Black - Ray LaMontagne 18. Hail To the Thief - Radiohead 19. Takk... - Sigur Ros 20. White Blood Cells - The White Stripes 21. Elephant - The White Stripes 22. Our Endless Numbered Days - Iron & Wine 23. No Line On the Horizon - U2 24. The Woods - Sleater Kinney 25. Dear Science - TV On the Radio

I'll come up with a list too if I can- in the meantime, how about this definitive list of most influential albums ever, as recorded by the National Recording Preserving Board? www.loc.gov/rr/record/nrpb/nrpb-masterlist.htmlI'll be honest- I don't have any interest to hear #271....

"I'll be honest- I don't have any interest to hear #271.... "
I have the quardrophonic version --- it's actually rather stunning.
I wonder if I've even purchased all that many 21st Cent. releases.....it hardly feels like 10 years have gone by already. I've been trying to think of some grand ones that knocked me out. OPETH's last is about all that comes to mind right now along with the live MMJ.

That's the one with the bonus track of Bull Mating Calls right?
(I really need to get more involved with the actual thread.....)

I haven't heard the new Muse yet and wonder if it might make my list if I heard it. Sounded good live, that's fer sure.
