Here's Rush's Moving Pictures: www.sendspace.com/file/tfs60gFor anyone who hasn't heard the band, this is without a doubt their best record. I'm no fan of prog, but even I can't find (much) fault with this. Doesn't have "The Spirit of Radio," though, which is their best cut, IMO. Or "New World Man," which is also awfully good, but it does have "Limelight" which is in the same league.

Thanks Ken. I wanna see what all the fuss is about myself. Chances are I've heard at least one song by these guys.

I don't see how you could've missed hearing Tom Sawyer at least once or twice over the years ...

Nope, never heard Tom Sawyer before. And I think it's safe to say I never will again.

I don't see how you could've missed hearing Tom Sawyer at least once or twice over the years ... Funny, I never missed hearing it...... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ KOOL => I grabbed 'dem Icehouse albums -- THX! The only one I had on CD proper was Icehouse along with a burnt comp of tunes from Primative Man/Man Of Colours/Measure For Measure, so it was nice to get them all inclusive. What do you know of the album Big Wheel from the mid-90's? I'm afraid I hadn't heard a peep of them since Man.....

I've heard the odd thing since Man Of Colours, but nothing that really made me want to go out and get it. Icehouse's huge periods between album releases made me lose interest in them in the 90s. I will hunt it down though. We're only a few albums away here from having their complete discography. However, I don't think I'm not gonna bother with that covers album, The Berlin Tapes. Those things are never any good.

For anyone who might be interested ... here's the set that the Jam played for my 18th birthday, 12/2/1982 ... www.sendspace.com/file/oq5cz1One of the best live bands of their generation, and a damn good show.

Hope you're not (too) disappointed in that Jam set, RD. If nothing else, I think you're sure to enjoy their cover of "Get Yourself Together" and some of the more soul-inflected cuts in that performance. I can't believe that they not only played "Beat Surrender," they did a damn good job of it! If I'd seen that show in vivo, I'd have been absolutely in heaven. But then I'd have also been pissed that they didn't play "Dreams of Children" or a few other songs. You just can't please all your fans all the time, I'm afraid.

The first 4 or 5 songs I listened to before I left my office (and LOUDly) blew me away...Weller is a wonderfully expressive (if spare) guitarist.
And I grabbed it out of the player hoping I'd get a chance to cue it up outside in the cool night air tonight...but that didn't happen.
Watched Tony Parker and the Spurs pick apart LeBron and my man, Zydrunas Ilgauskas....and snatch another NBA title.
Tomorrow, that disc is getting a workout.
