Skvor, why is the file so large? Isn't it in mp3 format? The download is pretty slow, which can only mean others here are snatching it up too. Looks like you got a hit on your hands.

Yeah, you send it had a fit with it being over 300 MB.....I think it's 400 all together. I didn't really understand it myself, but hey, that's why there's sendspace. If it doesn't work, let me know.....

Yeah, that's a big file and it's coming down the pipes slow for now (estimated time left 2hr 12mins!). But I am patient.

They're .wav files, that's why it's so big. I just got the first half.
Just listening to the first track. It's sounding great so far.

Skvor - I got the first part (tracks 2 - 7) before you switched format. Did you compose, play and arrange all this solo? Very impressive indeed.
Listening to "You Are My Favourite City" and I'd have no complaints so far if I'd actually bought this; like the unexpected synths at approx 4:40 as well, since it adds that twisty edge you sometimes don't get with post-rock. Is that a VST like Crystal or something?

"Prytania" was unexpectedly left-field - were you channelling Enjoy Your Rabbit? Great stuff Skvor. After the crazy ending I was relieved at the comparatively guitar-driven melodicism that opened "We Carried Our Belongings..." though.
Both these are labelled track 3 on mine. Is Prytania first? I think that would make sense from a track sequencing viewpoint, so I'll stick with it eh?

Yep, everything that you hear is me. I wrote it, recorded it, played it, cried over it, hated it, loved it, then hated it again, then decided it was okay and then mastered it. The mastering software that I am using totally switched all of the tracklisting around for me so, it's a bit weird. So really, just play them in random order or put them in the order that you think is best.
The synths are all analog synths through various effects pedals and only some VST effects were used lightly on a few. I'm really glad that you like it. I'd stick with it.....I think you'll dig it. I have been sending it out to labels and stuff but since it's just me and I can't play live, I have no hopes. I just wanted to share it with you guys. I mostly do this stuff for friends anyway.

My internet connection is totally fucked today. It took me almost 2 hours to upload this. I've already PM'd it to ThoRn's just in case he misses it here. This is Rotting Christ's latest album Theogonia. I imagine you Skvor being the only other person here remotely interested in hearing it too, that is unless you've already got it. www.sendspace.com/file/a12o8nbtw, I can't fully appreciate your album Skvor. My computer speakers are constantly making nasty popping sounds whenever I play music. The louder I play the music, the louder [and more painful] the pops are. Even when I plug my headphones in I get the same effect. My wiring is probably fucked up. I'll burn it to CD anyway and give it a proper listen through my stereo or in the car. I gotta say, I really liked the first few tracks I heard. I'll tell ya this much. It's better than Chris Cornell's latest album.

Skvor - for me "We Carried Our Belongings In Our Coffins" is the standout on this album, at least out of the 8 tracks I have so far. This is seriously good work. The piano/guitar build is really poignant, then it breaks down before building up again in a way Trent Reznor would clearly approve of. I'm going out on a limb here and suggesting a NIN-influence showing through quite strongly here, though I'm not saying your track is mere pastiche, don't worry!
I dunno whether you're still inclined to tweak this thing or have moved on? - at exactly 35-36 seconds on this track there's either a gitch on my copy or slight timing issue, but that's me being real anal.
I like the fact you've exercised control over song length as well. I've seen too many post-rock demos where the tracks are all repetitively spun out to 9+ minutes 'cos kids think it's compulsory. Yeah, I'm impressed here mate.

I'd send you some stuff in return, but here's what I had last time I recorded some songs:
1. One bass with half-broken chorus pedal 2. One £70 guitar with 7 dead frets and completely flat above the 12th fret on strings g, b, e. 3. One £30 distort pedal 4. Cubasis (Cubase lite) ripped from a friend 5. 3 crappy VSTs downloaded free 6. A creative audigy platinum sound card to plug the guitar into the PC 7. A £5 mic and a terrible singing voice. 8. A metronome
Yeah, unsuprisingly I'm really not sure what I managed to record captures the vision. Plus I improvised most of the lyrics, 'cos I always figured I'd get around to doing something decent one day.
Still, if you're curious despite all that, let me know.
