NIN was definitely an influence on that record. I have always loved Trent Reznor's instrumentals and the way he plays minimal piano compositions. Thanks for the feedback on the timing issue. I'm going to tweak that actually. I had not noticed it until you mentioned it.
Yes, I'd be interested in hearing your music for sure. I have feeling your just being way too much the modest mouse.

Skvor - I downloaded and gave your stuff a quick first listen last evening. Didn't get a chance to check in here afterwards but to mirror JLLM's comments, impressive indeed. Thanks for sharing.

Huge thanks. Perhaps it's because I've changed, perhaps it's because Interpol have changed, or maybe it's because Interpol haven't changed, but listening to this isn't exciting me all that much. "Pioneer to the Falls" and "Scale" are undeniably solid and the last 2 songs on the album are at least interesting, but there doesn't seem to be much else. Of course, initial impressions can be misleading, and I'll possibly be on here in a week saying it's the greatest album ever made. I think it's unlikely though.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about it either. Last night I was visiting a friend on the other side of town and it was a 1 hour drive with all the traffic so I got to listen it real good. It got painfully boring toward the end so I just took it out and put in my Spandau Ballet CD instead. Seriously. I needed something to pick me up after all that whining. All of a sudden "Paint Me Down" and "Instinction" sounded twice as awesome as I thought they were. I did play Turn On The Bright Lights on the way back. Now that's a fantastic album.

If Spandau Ballet's the antidote, that's some pretty awesome venom.
Nah, I'm finished with Interpol. I'll take TOTBL out for a spin every now and then, and probably play Antics once a year and really enjoy it.
There's no way in hell I'm going to put myself through the 30 mile journey to a totally different city to watch them on the UK tour.

The bottom line is Interpol would've been a better band if they were British. ;D

That's because their snooty butler would walk into the recording studio with tea and crumpets, and subtly make astonishingly adept suggestions to get things back on track.

Skvor, if you want to distribute your music in Japan, this is the label you should contact - they'd be the most open to this kind of music. zankyo-record.now.co.jp/I'm liking the songs I'm hearing, but I'd love to see you get a band together to play this - though I guess that's easier said than done.

Huge thanks. Perhaps it's because I've changed, perhaps it's because Interpol have changed, or maybe it's because Interpol haven't changed, but listening to this isn't exciting me all that much. I actually thought that when I heard Antics. I loved Turn On The Bright Lights when it came out, but somehow it just...I dunno, but that kind of music stopped appealing to me for some reason. I could understand why other people were loving it so much, but it just didn't click with me personally. Needless to say, I don't particularly care either way about their new album, though I suppose I'll give it a listen at the record store when it comes out.
