I just tried to make a little poem for you but Milwaukee's Beast seems to be interfering with any rhyming power I once had. The happy-dance will suffice I hope. I will book you a venue or two! and you will drink much rum and coke out of pumpkin-shaped coffee cups on my futon and fury up the denver noise scene around a crackling fire somewhere in the warehouse district!

I seriously can't fookin wait! Me and the other guy in my band (my best mate Peter) had such a great time that we are just salivating at the chance of doing more shows again. We heard how sickly good the noise scene in Denver is so we just have to go and drink rum and coke out of pumpkin shaped coffee cups on your futon.

...and just in time. R.I.P. Mrs. P-Orridge.  Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and her reactivated Psychic TV aka PTV3 are terribly sad to announce the cancellation of their November North American tour dates. This decision is entirely due to the unexpected passing of band member Lady Jaye Breyer P-Orridge. Lady Jaye died suddenly on Tuesday 9th October 2007 at home in Brooklyn, New York from a previously undiagnosed heart condition which is thought to have been connected with her long-term battle with stomach cancer. Lady Jaye collapsed and died in the arms of her heartbroken "other half" Genesis Breyer P-Orridge. Being overwhelmed by the enormity of their loss, Genesis and the other surviving band members of Psychic TV/PTV3 are not able to properly meet the demands of touring and performance. Obviously, her absence onstage , the conspicuous loss of her unique charisma, music and humour would be an unbearable emotional reality to confront night after night. The group, who have been touring to promote their first studio album in 12 years, will announce future plans after an appropriate period of mourning." ... so how did that work, with "the other half" getting a sex change and all, i wonder. |

well, damn. i got all excited because this guy messaged me on myspace, saying "hey, you really know rasmussen? he helped me start this group (ZI) and i was wondering why you're on his top friends (blah blah blah...)"
so i message him back and it turns out we know a lot of the same people in denver, and he's just moved to portland also.
so i call john (rasmussen) last night to see what the deal with this guy was, and he's like "ohhhhhh THAT guy. stay away from that dude. he's probably running from the law, he's been in jail, he's a stalker, he was with (our mutual friend) Kira and wrecked her car" etc etc. goddammit. i was so excited.
not exactly pertaining to noise except these are noise people we are talking about. i'm just depressed. maybe i'll hang out with him to get a foot in the door of the noise scene here but be careful about letting him into my life. guy sounds like a creep.
i am so BORED. i must be aurally assaulted soon or i will melt into the walls of the house.

I think you would be better off just showing up to shows and making connections that way. If the guy is a creep, you want to minimize your assocation with the guy so that most people don't identify you with him. I know that Yellow Swans is currently in Portland and I believe that Pete Swans has a record store there. Check that out at the iheartnoise.com forums and see if you can make some connections there as well and find out where that store is. There is a northwest thread there that gets noise kids in touch with each other and talk about shows. I think that that would be much better than hanging with this dude.

hmm yeah, good advice. i just hate making judgments about people until i actually meet/experience them for myself. he says he knows another friend of mine too, so maybe i will call her just to be sure she feels the same way about him as rasmussen does.
thanks for the info! probably can't check it out here at firewalled-to-the-hilt work, but as soon as we get internet set up at our house i'll do it.

unrelatedly, have you heard Badwolf? it's my friend ezra's thing, i think he's on my top friends as "scumbag" or some such ugly moniker. his photo is sideways. he's crazy...
also (and in my opinion better if more controversial) nervesandgel, this weirdo johnny's project. he is really churning stuff out all of a sudden, and it's all good. check out "holy fuck i miss you" or "eating food from my tummy", haha.
