Tell us about the best show you saw this year, folks! I've already posted about mine here. Polaris at the Shibuya AX, November 10, 2006. A pity that no one here knows who they are, but such is life.

I didn't really get to see very many shows this year. But the best one I saw was definately X at the House of Blues. Also really enjoyed Mission of Burma and Os Mutantes at the Pitchfork festival, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and Thunderbirds Are Now! (of course).

Didn't Skvor and PC both also see X this year? Spread the jealousy out, brother Thorn.

Man, I'll tell you what, but I think the best live show was May 11 this year, at the Fillmore in SF, performed by dredg. I wasn't there, however: Their recently released live recording of it, sans touch-ups & totally "as is", is amazing. You can really hear what a phenomenal live band they are. Of course, I've seen em about 7 times already, to the point I've met & talked w/all the guys in the band, they're used to seeing me at their shows here in Salt Lake or Vegas. Don't miss the opportunity to see dredg live - they're one of the best bands around today, and they're going nowhere but up (just y'all wait & see;)

This was my favorite '06 live show. I'm only posting the link because it's too fucking much to re-write.

I'll probably post a top 5 list at the end of the year. There's still several shows that I'm looking forward to in December which might (or might not) make the list. But I went ahead and created this thread anyway, because I'm about 99.99% certain that nothing will surpass that Polaris show. You know that a show is good when it's interrupted with equipment problems for about 30 fucking minutes, but you still leave a happy customer.
Speaking of thorn missing X, what about Live Show That You Most Wanted To See But Couldn't of 2006? This one's easy for me - 65daysofstatic. Missing the shows hurts all the much more because they're not a local act.
