I am really surprised to see that it didn't open bigger. With all the buzz I was expecting a huge weekend.

Is SOAP really better as a shared experience (among the right crowd) or can it be enjoyed on its own merits by yourself?
I wasn't able to see it opening weekend but I might be able to see it this coming weekend.

Is that b/c it hasn't come out in Canada yet, or is it b/c of your schedules? If it's the latter, then I suggest rearranging your priorities. ;D Totally missed this... but yeah, it's because of our fucked up schedules right now, and the fact that we were basically running a bed and breakfast here this weekend. I woke up with six extra people in my house this morning, two of them under the age of five. There unfortunately hasn't been much time for snakes. But I can say that I am desperately jealous of everyone who's already seen this. I am aching to go. Maybe I should just call in sick to work tomorrow...

admittedly samuel l. jackson is awesome, and worth coffing up $12 to go see, but this movie looks like a ridiculous big studio american piece of crap, even if it was made in vancouver. i saw the promo for it the last time i went to the movie and laffed my ass off.
i could be wrong but i doubt it. and to compare it to something as iconic as the rocky horror picture show is just daft. i doubt anyone will remember this movie in 2 years n/m 20+.

Did anyone else here hate the Rocky Horror Picture Show? I thought it was terrible, but I can totally see SOAP maintaining pretty significant cult status.

Rocky Horror is too damn tacky and off the wall. Horrible songs, too. Tim Curry in drag is not my idea of a good time.
